How do I change the resolution of my renders?

I like to render using the "Viewport" preset, so I know exactly what's going to be in shot. But this only gives me a modest pixel by pixel resolution. So I have tried increasing the pixels, but now the preset switches to "Custom" and I no longer know that what is in the viewport will be in the final render.

This is frustrating.

Is there no way to up the pixels, whilst still rendering the viewport view?

What you need to do, is turn on the Aspenct Frame as shown below, that will let you see what will be rendered in the final image. You can set the render size upt 10,000 x 10,000 pixels, but it will still show th aspect (ratio) of your render.

Well, it's just that learning DS is really tough, but since I've been on this forum I have learned TONS from you and your colleagues. I appreciate it so much. I don't know if you are DAZ employees or what, but the time and effort you guys spend on here helping newbies like me (and it must be pretty tedious for you) is just fantastic!

This goes for the others of you out there too, btw, you know who you are.

Rendering to the viewport won't be affected by changing the resolution size because it is using the resolution of the monitor to determine the size of the render. You need to either render straight to a file or render in a new window.

my setup renders to a new window by default.
