Thanks so much, Zev0! I'll check if I'm updated. In case you've forgotten how I feel, you and your products rock, and they make my life so much easier.

Thanks man.. Appreciate the kind words.
  • I bought the bundle for G8F/G8M and can only use the one for G8M. The package for G8F doesn't even appear as available. I've already submitted a ticket to tech. If I'd known I'd have to deal with this BS I would have saved my money.

Hi. What bundle did you purchase? Please paste the link.

  • Just out of curiosity, is anyone else having crash issues when trying to use Fit Control on G8.1F?  It's happening with every one I try it on & it happens with both the Beta build & regular DS.  Still works great for G8F just not 8.1.  Crashes every time for me for some reason.

Do you have the latest version 1.4?

trying to apply fit control to a gen 8 model not 8.1, only element  is hair that appears, the clothing that used to accept fity control is not listed any more.  selecting the clothing on the 8.0 model and running the the script to apply fit control, reports please select an 8.1 model.  I'm using an 8.0 and clothes designed for 8.0 and the fit control script is under 8.0

Hi. Can I see the clothing item or get its name?

There are a couple of morphs I would like to add to Fit Control.  Is there any way to do it.  I suspect that Fit Control might be using Transfer Utility funtionality to add morphs (from the inventory and a temporary clothing item) to the  desired clothing item.  If it wasn't encrypted I could confirm this but that's just my thinking.  I suspect each morph is listed in the encrypted file; otherwise, all I would have to do would be to add the morph(s) I want to add to the folder of Fit Control morphs.  An interesting feature alternatively would be to allow users to add morphs to their install.  Just thinking.

Hi. On figure under Actor/Fit Control choose any sub folder to stick your morph in and save. It can be saved anywhere in data as long as morph placement is inside Fit Control. It will be added to clothes when you use the script. It will also auto change colour to match sub directory it is placed in when viewed on clothing item.

In a nutshell, it is an open end system. Only FC Directories are listed in encryption, any morph placed in those will populate.

Oh, wow! I never would have guessed that. Thanks for the info and for making it so flexible.

Thanks so much for this prompt reply.  It just points out how little I really understand.  You have said....On figure under Actor/Fit Control choose any sub foler to stick your morph in and save.

I have created some morphs in a clothing item.  Your statement and the images suggest I should be saving them in the Fit Control structure of the character.   If I ever knew how to do that I cannot recall.  I can move my morph about within the parameters tab of the clothing item but thats not saving or repopulating when I apply Fit Control nor is it what I think you are indicating.  Thanks again.

"Your statement and the images suggest I should be saving them in the Fit Control structure of the character. "

    That is correct.

Understood.  But.  How do I save clothing morphs to the character.

  • Zev0Zev0 Posts: 7,081

That you can't do easily..You have to re-engineer the morphs. Thats how Fit Control morphs are created.

  • s_j_gregorys_j_gregory Posts: 103

I am confused then.  I thought . .. On figure under Actor/Fit Control choose any sub folder to stick your morph in and save.  I am not getting this still or how to do it.

Is it about picking up the clothing's morph file(s) in explorer and dropping it into: data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\Zev0\Fit Control and then editing into the folder you want??

  • s_j_gregorys_j_gregory Posts: 103

Or are you telling me that morphs created on the character can be saved to the Fit Control structure and then Fit Control will add them to any clothing items.  This is a bit different than what I was asking initially.  Does this work with grafts.  I suspect not.

    |Understood.  But.  How do I save clothing morphs to the character.   |

You asked about creating morphs. You do that on figure, not the clothing. You cannot save morphs created on clothing to the figure. They have to be made on the figure.

Again, this may be showing just what I don't understand.  When I load Fit Control on a character, it asks me what clothing I want to apply it to.  As far as I can understand, it adds a bunch of 'things' to the clothing I have selected and those 'things' have dials etc in the Parameters Tab of the clothing that move the clothing about.  (I have learned today that the 'things' are also hidden within the character but learned this first today after about 7 years of playing... with DAZ.  I have never looked or thought to look for them in the character nor do I use them there...)  Now, I have created and saved, as a Morph Asset, my own 'thing' in a clothing item and this 'thing' appears in the Morphs category of the clothing item in the Parameters Tab and has dials etc.  It also moves the clothing about.  Similar I thought to Fit Control, it is a 'thing' that helps with clothing fit.  It would be swell if this 'thing' could be added to other clothing when Fit Control is applied in the future so I always have it.

"Now, I have created and saved, as a Morph Asset, my own 'thing' in a clothing item and this 'thing' appears in the Morphs category of the clothing item in the Parameters Tab and has dials etc."

This "thing" is created on clothing and not the figure so this thing will only exist on that clothing item. Reason why Fit Control morphs work on multiple clothing is because they are created on the figure and then projected onto clothing. The figure acts as a universal hub, your morph on clothing item is specific to that clothing item.

Right.  So if I wanted to add a 'Side-Side' aspect to your 'Bulge' family, I would do that with the mesh of say G8F, save it within the Fit Control structure of G8F (as a Morph Asset) and then (after restarts and reloads as randomly required to load the morphs. . . . ) it would appear in the Fit Control collection when Fit Control is applied to selected clothing items.

    Correct.

Slow learner but got it.  I was looking for an easier way to tranfer morphs between clothing items.  Unfortunately this would not be it.  Appreciate your patience.  Thanks again.

    Hello

Is there a manual?  Help somewhere?

When I apply the fit control morphs to an item, it says to apply them to Genesis 8.1.

    Kind regards

    Andy

The manual is linked right in the online readme.

I believe you select the G8 figure, then in a popup you check the item or items you want the control morphs to be applied to.

I upgraded to 4.20, and my Fit Control for Genesis 8.1 Female is broken. I have Duplicate File errors; could that have something to do with Fit Control crashing after it applies the morphs?

How did you install FC?  Do you have the lastest version?  It works fine for me, but I'm on the current version.
