Posing the Horse and Rider
Hi Everyone,
I've searched and searched for an answer to this and for the life of me, I cannot figure it out. I'm working with the Daz Horse 2 and Victoria 5. in Studio 4.5. I'm trying to pose the hands onto the reins of the horse's bridle and then parent them to it. But since Victoria is already parented to the horse, it just isn't working. Basically, I want to pose the horse into different trotting positions and have Victoria follow the horse with her body and legs and have her hands follow the reins and not have to repose the hands for every single movement. I've tried creating a null object, but that didn't work either since she is already parented. I'm sure I'm missing something easy, since I'm a complete novice, but I sure could use some help right about now. TIA. I've attached a copy of my hierarchy.

Kym,
I'm REALLY not the one to attempt to answer this, but since it's been awhile and the regulars aren't jumping in- Does that bridle have different parts, aka, the reins? If so, can you somehow at least get the hands and reins associated with each other? EDIT- in other words, are the reins SEPARATE under the bridle- and that's what you tried, and it isn't working?
I don't have the updated versions of the horse or reins but I can say the riens were a royal PITA to get right. I believe they have put a few more bones in the reins but not having them I am not sure if that is the case or not. You should be able to expand the reins in the scene pane and see what parameters you have in the Parameters pane for each of the bones.

Yes, the reins are a separate item in the hierarchy and I've tried to parent to them. I think that the problem is that since the figure is already parented to the horse, I can't parent it to the reins as well. At least that's what it seems like to me. But as I said, I'm as rank a newbie as they come.
Unfortunately as it stands you will have to pose the reins, there isn't a way to get them to follow the hands (though you could make them Point at a hand - select all of the parts of the reins, then in the Parameters pane find the Point at button and select the hand, or create a null, parent it to one hand or the other and then point at that - which allows for a bit of adjustment).
