Any lightning how-tos?

Want more than some transparency gel, it would be nice if someone has an inkling how to create genuine 3D particle effects such as lightning in hexagon. Possible?

Particle effects?
I suppose one would need the ability to animate. One cannot animate in Hexagon.
Should be easy enough to model a lightening bolt in Hex, rig it in an animation app and use some clever lighting techniques and animation to make it realistic.
Some time ago I saw some really good effects done with shooting particles inside a modeled lightening bolt in Carrara.
and, as far as I am aware there is not a particle system within Hexagon. I'll go one further there is not! You'll have to look towards Blender for example, for that. :)
Just a quick "proof of concept" - pic 1 is the poly lines used, 2 is the mesh, 3 the model rigged in Carrara (on second thoughts, morphs would have been better than rigging) and finally the animation.

Beautifully done, Roygee! Really like your animation as well.
Well, well, Roy; that video was really great. All power to your mouse. :cheese:
Thanks, guys:)
Really just a quick experiment to see whether my idea would work.
