iray or 3dl material

I have numerous sets of materials that come in both iray and 3dl but the same icon is used for each material. A snip of the Kytarya outfit is attached as an example. How do I know if I am applying iray?

This particular item works fo Gen 3 and Gen 8, has two icons for each piece of wardrobe, but they aren't consistent as to whether the first or second is for Gen8.  Choosing the first icon results in an attempt to autofit 50% of the time. On the next item, the first is the correct choice. If the first or second icon isn't the correct choice for the wardrobe, how do I know which is correct for the material? Wouldn't it be a good idea for vendors to place the iray symbol on the iray material?

I have numerous wardrobe sets that have both Iray and 3dl materials where the icon isn't labeled. How do I determine which is Iray?  I attached a snip from the Kytarya outift as an example. In this particular outfit, the icons for Gen8 and Gen3 aren't even consistent. On one item,  choosing the first icon works. On the next item choosing the first item triggers an autfit. If the wardrobe is not consistent as to which icon is the one I want, how can I assume that the material icon is?  Wouldn't it be a good idea to have vendors put the iray symbol on the iray material?

I'd say the problem is NOT with the icons, but rather Smart Content.  Switch over to the Content Library view (should be a tab) and look under G3F and G8F in 'Clothing'.  The layout of the outfit and its materials should make more sense...then file a bug report about how the metadata that drives the Smart Content view is making a hash of things.

Agreed... though, if you go to the content library instead of using Smart Content, they usually split up the materials into different folders.
