Errors

I'm desperately looking for a way to build sequential comic stripes so I found DAZ as a potential solution. I say potential because I don't really know what DAZ does yet. I've been trying to take my first steps but of course I hit a snag and have been stuck in it for more than an hour in a totally waste of precious time and explosion of anger especially because there's no available support.

My problems are:

1. Trying to follow the quick start guide hasn't been possible as nothing happens when I click Files option.

2. The app never logs me in. Firstly it used to show a message with the reason, what made me change my password. I did it and now, when I try to connect it just shows me a yellow circle with an ex without a message telling me why the heck it doesn't work. Come on!

3. When I click an option that would supposedly solve my problem it leads me to a 404 web page. Come on again!

4. What the f... is "a valid PostgreSQL" mean and what should I do to my network (which is working more than perfectly) , anti-virus and firewall. Why didn't this message use to appear before and started today?

Thanks a lot.

  • There is definitely something very wrong with this.  I don't know what though, although I'm sure someone should come along soon with some ideas.  It looks like you may have to uninstall and re install the program.  Or, you may want to contact tech support, they should be able to walk you through what you need to do.

  • PostgreSQL is the database that provides the Content Management System for Daz studio - it's either not installed, or soemthing is blocking it - that's why Smart Content is empty even if you have installed content. Make sure that PostgreSQL is isntalled, if it is then what security software are you using? It's possible that the security software is both preventing DS from talking to PostgreSQL and preventing DS from contacting Daz to access your account.

HOW do I know if PostgreSQL CMS is installed?  Where does it live on Windows 10?  Is it a serparate download from DAZ?

  • If you use Install Manager then it will appear in Ready to Download/Ready to Install/Installed, depending on whether it is in fact isntalled (note, however, that there are several versions - the main question is is one of them isntalled?). If you download stand-alone isntallers it's https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files#prod_18869 . If installed (using default paths) you will have a C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\PostgreSQL CMS
