    http://www.daz3d.com/reflect-me
Correct or confirm- I believe the Reflect Me product already has the reflection set up in the mirror?
If so, couldn't newbies learn how to do reflection from simply getting this product? Only $2.51 right now.
I have it but not tried it, but I recall reading in a thread the reflection was there.

Scott-L recommends Art Collaborations products as they usually have light sets, and Andrea for Young Teen Julie in particular- here's the post.

Also great for Fabricator to make a lot of outfits
    http://www.daz3d.com/playtime

A lot of lights. And makeup options, etc.

This ends DAZ Dimension Lights 1.
Remember, if you want a fast light setup, Chiara was at World Center 0/0/0 coordinates. Move your SET and keep your figure there, and you should get these results. (Newbies- Note the excellent quality render settings though- if you have a shading rate above .30 or pixel samples below 11, etc- depending on your combinations you will get different results. I personally don't EVER go higher than .50 on any render for the shading rate when doing portraits, even for test renders. But that's just me.)

    La Dolce Vita Restaurant

    http://www.daz3d.com/la-dolce-vita-restaurant

Get on your best clothes- I'm taking you to a five star restaurant! La Dolce Vita!

First, a look at what you get with this set. :)
Loaded up the RST FULL scene. This is where you are when the scene loads.

And when you zoom out, you've left without paying your bill!

Ihad a lag on my actions in the viewport. Turned off the walls. Even then, everything was a delayed response. No other set has slowed me down. (and no other programs running either.) We're going to go in and explore from here.

(2nd image) TURN OFF THE WALLS to move around. Speeds it up.

All props showing except for the wall. Nice paintings. They left room for people to lounge around, no tables at this area with the paintings.

Third image: if you were to continue past the painting- this is directly behind it. I tried turing on the walls but it blocked the view. So walls are obviously still off.

Having trouble moving around. Turned off the ceiling, columns, almost everything to speed up moving around even more.

TIP: know where the paintings are. They will keep you from getting lost. I know the bright yellow flower one is on my bottom left of the set (from the way I entered it.)

I have an early day tomorrow so yes, calling it quits at 1am (shock, I know!) Will be gone tomorrow but will work on this set some tomorrow. We have a tropical storm brewing in the Gulf of Mexico in the next few days so have to go buy hay, run errands, etc. Lots of rain expected. If any of you have La Dolce Vita Restaurant and want to help with the product review, pitch in :) Love to have you! If you've used it in a render, feel free to share. Or screenshots like I am doing.

    Later :)

Okay, turned on the Floor, Walls, Ceiling. If you are staying on the left (the way we entered) you turn on Columns 2. Leave Columns 1 off, they won't show. Top won't show either. Also leave off Entrance Door and Interior Doors.

It appears the ends on the left side (again, the way I entered) are both open areas. Turning on furniture (dining stuff) didn't plop in any tables.
So if you want a mini scene, go to the upper left and turn this on (in addition to the floor, ceiling, walls)

    Image 1
Let's use the upper left corner. Turn on painting 10,11, and 12. Wrought iron sofa 6 and 7 (and wrought iron tables small 6 and 7) It's rose vault column 52 (that lotus looking white bulb hanging on the wall to the right) and the chandelier is vault lampHR_11. The candles on the table are Rose Candle Table 14, 15, 16.

Geez, you need a MAP to get around in here! (I'm a lousy restaurant guide, aren't I, lol?) One thing I have learned- do not attempt to use this set in a hurry. Getting around and finding just the right spot won't be done quickly. I will be indexing all the product reviews soon so you'll be able to pop into this one directly and hopefully it will help you find your way around.

    Image 2 and 3
The next two photos show you the inside view, and where you'd be from the outside (the L shape of the building, with the door on the left.) We "entered" on the left of that door originally and the upper left corner would be straight on back.

Now, I'm going to try something brave. (Well, risky.)
I am going to trust MY lightset and do a render without any tests. I brought Chiara and Cassini into La Dolce Vita Restaurant and am doing the scene from where I merged THEIR scene into it. I left any existing lights alone- so I may be blending La Dolce Vita's with mine. I have the render going so can't check. So I don't know what lights I am using except mine. This should be FUN!

The render settings are very good quality (not insane) so we'll see what this does. I did depth of field too so should be really cool. Keep an eye on the thread (or subscribe.) It's 3:15am and I know I said I was going to get some sleep but just HAD to do a scene. Also used the Totally Bazaar to deck out my gals.

    Nite! (well, morning)

Got up to sneak a peek and make sure the render wasn't coming in black, lol. I'm seeing decent colored walls so hopefully the gals will not be ultra dark when they render. I didn't zoom in on the fingers and correct poses either so we'll just hope for the best as this is a light test. So far the background top strips (going horizontally) are fine.

Couldn't wait, had to get up and check on it.
I am pleased that there is enough light not to be a total fail, but here's what you'll get with the lights that come with the set. Ah yes, could guess from the chalky legs that UE2 was in play, and the spotlight with the set is only at 32% and a light blue. My lights were 2 spotlights AND a distant light, which tells me you're going to need additional lights because it still didn't quite "do it." It's a pretty bland overall lighting setup.

So, and here's where I AM pleased- I again had trouble with my computer lagging, so I totally had to guess and just rely on instinct from playing with spotlights and distant lights for months. I added spotlights without testing and it "came along" rather nicely. Could still adjust some more, but it's so hard to work with the lag, will leave it for now.

Here is Chiara and Cassini leaving the restaurant :) First is the lightset that comes with the set plus my three.(2 spotlights, one distant)
Second is with FOUR MORE spotlights so a total of six spotlights plus a distant light of my light set.

They do and are very easy to work with. Just make sure they catch enough light to actually reflect.

An example, because I had entirely too much fun when testing this out.. (With one of my Test Subjects, obviously)

To reduce the lag while posing and arranging things, use smooth shading instead of texture shading.

    Appreciate it Mori_Mann :)

Love that the dragons are on sale.

    THINK OCEAN DRAGONS
If you picked up any of those ocean people (the merbabies, etc) then this will be cool!

http://www.daz3d.com/dragons/faerie-dragon is the one I've been waiting on- because I had http://www.daz3d.com/dragons/berry-dragons
I buy things on sale even if I don't have what I need- it'll come around eventually. Take a peek at this set to use UNDERSEAS! That's what I'm going to do. Because they do it here anyway! http://www.daz3d.com/dragons/fantasea

http://www.daz3d.com/dragons/snake-dragon is really different! I don't see the option to hide the wings, which would be nice, but a very different dragon.

Did you like my Venomwhip? The materials are so neat- glossy. Remember this render with Tamesis? Now you can grab this cutie (with LOTS of segments in the tail to bend, a lot of morphs- it's a really good product) for $2.78!

I will definitely try that- THANKS! It has a different option when loading the scene- don't know what it is, may be without the lights- but not going to load the entire thing if when I switch to smooth shading, I get the horrible lag. I literally couldn't experiment with my lights at all, even when using Parameters to move them it was jerky.

One suggestion to kit bash (take pieces from various product to create something new)

La Dolce Vita has those neat paintings- they'd go great in the art gallery or artist studio products as props. (Quite a talented painter though, sure wouldn't want to use it for a struggling amateur, lol.)

For an individual's art studio, there's these:
    http://www.daz3d.com/mini-art-set

BUT...I can't remember the name of room that had the easel set up. It was an apartment type setting. Anyone recall? It's driving me NUTS. Nothing in the search came up, I went through all five pages.

It was somewhat grungy looking, not a modern art type apartment. (no offense to the vendor, lol) Or what's your suggestions for an art studio where these paintings can be used?

    What does the +2 mean?

Kit Bashing: Going To Explore These Together

    L' Atelier

    La Dolce Vita Restaurant

Oh how neat! This would make a perfect art studio. Going to try it. And it's Platinum Club folks!

Every art studio needs great light, so this is a natural choice. Now let's kit bash and combine props from L;Atelier and La Dolce Vita Restaurant (the paintings) with Conservatory and have some fun! The Conservatory is elegant, and so are the paintings. If you're following the thread and want to doodle along, you can also test some of the lighting we just did. I haven't done light coming through windows so this will be my first set to do so, and I like to dive in and stay on one aspect for awhile to learn it extensively. I also have some of the shadows/gel lights and can doodle with that too.

Even if you're not interested in an art studio- look at the set. It's so pretty. Got any renders with it that you can share?

Not exactly an art studio, more of an art museum. This uses the Conservatory and the Sculptural Fun package.

Nice! That looks like fun- I have it but haven't used it yet.

I'm in L'Atelier converting the canvases using the Fabricator. Getting rid of the abstract and replacing with tropical/pastel abstracts. Interesting so far. May also try different types of photos. Will get to the Conservatory.

Sorry, I've been in L'Atelier putting together a tutorial. :)
I got that too- it just looks so.....calculating. Like it would turn on it's programmer if it had one, lol. I LOVE your lights!

Do me a favor- as you're exploring products, note for me the ones that come with lights if you have time. (Even if you don't like them, that way I can install the product and add it to the light review list.) If everyone surfing this thread will help (time permitting) I'd appreciate it. Some products have lights and some don't- unless there is already a list somewhere that I don't know about. (shocker, eh? With such tiny forums and the way DAZ is organized...)

The Flash Sale today was a good one. I think Dawn is a good thing, lol. Did anyone also notice Renderosity re-introduced one of the Flash sale vendors as "being back" in their huge promo banner today, the exact same time? (Phoenix)
Some of the things I also got were:

    Faerie Dragon
    Dragon Action Poses
    Snake Dragon
    Hatchling Dragon PLUS!
    Dragon Action
    Eastern Jewels
    Tawhak
    Infiltrator
