Install Manager screwed up, now I can't get Genesis content to show up

I made the mistake of using the Install Manager to download DAZ Studio 4.5 and Genesis - and it right royally screwed it up.

I can't find any of the Genesis content in the Smart Content Window on the left, and if I can find it using the Folder view in the right-hand pane it has a '!' symbol on it and when I double-click on it I get a message saying the file is missing (it isn't - when I follow the filepath it is plainly there.) I've checked the Configuration in the File Content Management - it's as it should be.

In desperation I uninstalled DAZ Studio 4.5, Genesis and the Install Manager program, and then re-installed the first two manually, without using the Install Manager at all - but I'm still getting the same problem. It's as if DAZ Studio 4.5 has somehow retained the memory of the screwed-up version I uninstalled - even though I also went back and manually deleted all the old folders from all locations before I reinstalled it again. Is there any way I can fix this? This program is pretty much useless to me if I can't access some of the key components to creating people (like body types and skin textures, for example!)

Wow ! sorry, this happened to you. Try to contact Daz customer support. You may not have uninstalled all data properly, also many files are stored in the registry. There are software utilities that uninstall software completely, registry and all, forgot the name of the one I used to use, do a google/yahoo search on uninstall software.

The DIM only did what you allowed it to do. The default DIM install location is different from the default Studio library location.
