dzshaderbuilder.dll preventing DazStudio startup

Hi, I am trying to get into DazStudio but everytime I tried to start up the program I get a fatal error screen, which says this. DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\Users\Username\OneDrive\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins\dzshaderbuilder.dll" at 0033:000000005B9B04DD, getPluginDefinition()+443885 byte(s). I've tried installing DAZStudio on my C: D: and One Drive but I keep getting this error no matter what I try. I've submitted a ticket to the help center, but we are getting nowhere quickly. If anyone has a suggestion I would love to here it. Thanks!

    Are your program files really in Users on OneDrive or is that just a folder name?

  • Hi, all of a sudden I started having the same problem.  I have been happily using Daz for quite some time, until an hour ago when this problem started to happen.  One of my GPU seems to have gone dead around the same time, which I have already removed, but the problem continues.  Everything else is working fine with the remaining GPU (GTX 1060 6GB), except Daz Studio.

    I uninstalled Daz and reinstalled the latest version which is available on the install manager, I even downloaded the application again just in case it was corrupted, I rolled back the NVIDIA driver to a version about a month ago (388.00), but nothing worked.   I am really stuck.

    ---Exception Reason---

    DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins\dzshaderbuilder.dll" at 0033:0000000027CF4EBE, getPluginDefinition()+462798 byte(s)

    This is the issue I am having as well.  This goes back to 2017, has there been a fix or a direction on how to fix this?

    I'm actually currently dealing with this and it's 2024. Has anyone found a fix to this?

    An old thead like this probably isn't the same issue as yours.
