Problems with Poses/Materials/Lighting after saving

Hey,

When I save my Daz scene I lost the reference to change the characters materials or use poses. The menu for poses is missing, while in the Materials tab I only have the default ones (not related to the character). I also tried adding a light and increasing it's intensity, then I started rendering, but the character's skin still looks dark.

Any ideas why how to fix these problems?

Edit : I fixed these problems by disabling Filter by Context, cannot believe it took me a whole day to figure it out. I still cannot figure out how to change the skin color, the texture is white, but when I render it, it appears dark / orange.

Skin colour: What character are you trying to render?

You can usually change the skin colour by making changes to the base colour&translucenvcy colour, but it would be important to know what character you try to render, as older characters might not have Iray skin, or a kin meant for an earlier version of Iray that has to be adapted.

I am trying this with Sunny 7, the textures seem the same as my other characters - Lilith 7, Olympia 7, Mika 7 - these 3 have a light skin when they are rendered while Sunny has dark / orange. The base color is white - 1.1.1 while I changed the translucenvcy to be the same as Olympia 7's (it was set to dark red before). I think the result is the same. I also added distant light that has a very very small effect even if I increase the intensity (it only looks good in the Viewport.

  • That sounds as if the Content Management System was losing the ID of the character. Turning off Filter By Selection will certainly work, but it shouldn't be necessary in the first place. Is this happening with all saved scenes? Does it happen with all figures?

I will be able to test once I figure out the lighting issue, sorry my PC is not that good and I can barely work with one instance of Daz.
