apply UberEnvironment selectively -- or better alternative?

Hi all,

UberEnvironment is an excellent shader and ambient light, especially for skin, but not everything needs it. Specifically, I'd like to be able to turn it off for certain objects in the scene that don't need it, particularly hair, which takes up half the render time. Is there a way to apply it selectively? Or is there a similar shader I can apply to skin for the same effect? If so, how might I go about doing it in DAZ Studio? I'm new to shaders in general.

Thanks in advance.

UE2 is not a surface shader but a light shader. You can apply Uber Surface (included in Daz Studio) to Hair and turn OFF Occlusion which will help with quicker rendering when using UE2 and other lighting that uses ray tracing.
