Lady of the Lake Hair question

edited December 1969 in New Users

When I originally put the LadyHair onto my figure there was a window that asked me if I wanted the hair long or short. I selected long, but I want it short now. How do I go back and do this?

Do I have to uninstall Lady of the Lake and then reinstall it? Or is there some way to change it without doing all of that?

Well, uninstll means taking the poduct out of the library, do you mean removing it from the scene?

That would be the easy way, delete the item from the Scene tab, and reload it, it should only take seconds. You should look in the Parameters pane to see if there are morphs for making the hair long or short. I don't have this item, but you could also look in the Pose folder to see if there is script file to do it for you.

I've tried loading a new version of the hair onto the scene but the hair still remains long.

I might have to uninstall the Lady of the lake and the reinstall it, so that I can get that option to pop back up.

After the option showed up the very first time I place hair on her head, it never showed up again. Now EVERY time I use the Lady of the Lake hair, it's long. I was placing the hair on a Victoria 5 figure.

The only thing that pops up about hair that I can think of is Autofit. It will ask you what character the hair was originally made for, and whether the hair is long or short, but Autofit should not appear if you are fitting this har to a Genesis figure.

Was the pop-up window like shown below?

Yes, I think that's it! How do I go and change my decision?

If you are using the hair on the intended model, you should never even see that window. Even so, all that it is asking you is 'Is the original hair Long or Short'. It doesn't really matter what you select, the hair is what it is, and Autofit only wants to know what it was originally so that it can convert it to fit the new figure, it will NOT change the original hair to a short version if it started out a 'long'.

If you load the hair onto the figure it was intended for, Genesis, you may find that there are some morphs for it in the Parameters pane that you can use to shorten it a bit at least. I don't have this hair, so I cannot check for you.

Thanks for your help. I created a new model using that same hair and that box came up again. No change no matter what I chose.

Lady of The Lake hair does not have any option to make the hair short, well not that I can find anyway, are you using the V4 or the genesis version of the hair.

That box is not an option for the hair, it is a question from the Auto-Fit. It is asking, "Is the hair you are auto-fitting Short or Long". It is asking the question so it can set up the bones more efficiently, short hair doesn't need as many bones transferred.
