Secrets of Figure Creation in Poser 5 by B L Render is the most complete reference I know of. But the obvious question is what are you wanting to achieve? I thought in your other thread you said you were using DAZ Studio, and DS has its own file format which stores more useful information than the Poser formats (for use in DS).
there is no DS Equivelent of PNG. PNG is a Portable Network Graphics image, well documented online. If you're talking about a thumbnail, you save it as a 91x91pixel thumbnail and name it DUFFILENAME.duf.png
I work mostly in Blender and would tike to import the items I build into DS and then have them available in pose and props. I have been adding them to DS in the poser formats library. This usually means a pose file, a texture file and some times an obj in Geometries or Character. I am not sure how to do this in DS alone.

The Op want's a manual on the code and script. Not a editor my friend.
I don't know that one exists or has ever existed...
