While I am new to daz (4.5), I have been using it for several weeks and have figured out many things through much trial and error and reading tons of your great posts and questions. I want to become familior with the program and it's inner workings before buying the many add-ons. My first question is...........is there a way to open the mouth on genesis without any add-ons? My next hudred or so questions will come as I learn more! Thanks for your patience with me. Great forum!

    The short answer is yes.

Genesis comes with a lot of morphs, which includes the mouth. The tongue, teeth and inner mouth are all textured and modeled as well. The tongue is also articulated so it can be moved for lip sync purposes or similar.

I have moved your post to the New Users Forum, as we are geared up to answer all sorts of beginner questions here.

If you are intending to use Genesis a lot, the Evolution Head and Body morphs are a really good investment.

There are also morphs available on ShareCG by DieTrying which most genesis users find very useful.

:)...........Thanks for the "short answer". I have found the tongue, jaw bones, etc., and the shaping of the mouth and lips, but cannot find a way to make the mouth open. Is there a "long answer"?:)

Make sure the head is selected first (click Genesis once to select, then click on the head to select that part). In the Parameters tab under Pose Controls you'll find all of the dials specific to the head including a "Mouth Open" dial.

Pose Controls are my favourite part of Genesis... they separate the shaping morphs from movement morphs and add functionality in that you can set up your own the way I did here: http://www.sharecg.com/v/66313/view/21/DAZ-Studio/WC-Pose-Controls-for-Genesis
