Very Newbie Question: Are the city scenes in 3D?
Hi,
I was about to buy one of the destroyed city scenes but there's almost no info on the promo page.
My basic question is this: I'd like to use some scenery in a video. I'd like a 3D look to it as the camera zooms or pans slowly.
Do these scenes come as layers that you can use in PhotoShop and import into Final Cut Pro? What would be the simplest way to create the effect I'm looking for?
Thanks.

I am not sure exactly which products you have in mind. If they are Stonemason products they are 3d. They are intended for Poser or DazStudio. You would have to set up your scene and render the animation to import into the programs you mentioned.
Ah.
So the file itself is not composed of layers like in Photoshop. Got it.
Thanks.
Hi NealF
I designed and built the Destroyed City set and yes it is fully 3D. Cameras can be moved and be positioned in 3D space and the set itself can be moved around to suite your needs.
Hope this helps.

That's great.
And I'm now assuming it gets animated within DAZ and exported to be used in Final Cut.
As opposed to being able to just use layers and bring them into FC like you would a Photoshop file.
If that's the case, I'm sure it'll be much more flexible. I was just looking to save some learning curve time for this simple animation.
Thanks.
Yes you do it in Daz. You animate the camera using key frames (do you use keyframes in FC?). You set the opening frame, move the time slider to the end of the shot and then set the end frame, Daz fills in the move and you end up with a nice pan......which will take a while to render.
Post it when its finished.

Sounds good.
Thanks.
