Trouble understanding what I need to buy to make certain products work.

I have only recently begun using DazStudio 4.5. I started by buying a few products that work with genesis. Then I purchased a product (Cara Hair) and installed it with the Daz 3d install manager. I cannot get it to show up in Daz Studio. What do I need to turn on or purchase to see this?

Here is what I currently have:
Veronica Year Three
Marauders
Night Guard for Genesis Male
Roxana Yaroslavna, Vampire Lady For Genesis
Genesis Michael Victoria Combo Bundle (v5)
Cara Hair
V4 and M4 Shapes for Genesis
Xenia Hair

I cannot get the product Veronica Year Three or Cara Hair to load into DazStudio.

Oh and I'd like to note that I can't seem to find Veronica Year Three in the Daz 3d Install Manager at all. So I guess I can't even install that one.

It's a very old product, so it is possible they haven't got round to adding it to the DIM yet. You can still download it manually by going the the produt library which you get to by going to you account from the button top right of the screen.

BTW you do realise that it is for Vicke 3 don't you?

Thanks for the reply. I’ll try to download it manually. Actually I am afraid I don’t know what that means. “for Vicke 3”

Like I said I’m pretty new to Daz and many of the concepts you pros see as obvious and easy are very new to me :)

Do you have any thoughts on the Cara Hair? That seems to be listed as for Victoria 4. Does that mean it will not work with Victoria 5? Even with the V4 Shape for Genesis?

Cara Hair may take some effort to use with Genesis, but it is possible. I have a tutorial that covers (among other things) how to use non-Genesis hair with Genesis: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/17656/ Hope it helps you, and feel free to ask if you have any questions.

DAZ3D Install Manager uses a different default content folder than DS does -- did you change the location in DIM before installing, or add the DIM location to DS?

Clothing made for Victoria 4, Michael 4, or Kids 4 will Auto-Fit to Genesis. The fit isn't always perfect (especially for shoes and long dresses) but usually it works pretty well. You can Auto-Fit clothing for Victoria 3 to Genesis if you own the Victoria 3 for Genesis shape: http://www.daz3d.com/v3-and-m3-shapes-for-genesis (also available as part of this bundle: http://www.daz3d.com/gen-3-iconic-shapes-for-genesis)

I'm not sure how that coat would work, but everything else should fit fine, I would guess...if you try it and aren't satisfied, you can return the items for credit or a refund, as long as it's within 30 days of purchase.

Oh...this is Victoria 3. She is a stand-alone figure, pre-Genesis. This is the figure that the Veronica outfit was made for: http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-3-0-base

The Victoria 3 Shape for Genesis (linked in my previous post) allows Genesis to assume the shape of the Victoria 3 figure, and also allows Genesis to wear Victoria 3 clothing via Auto-Fit. Note that if you own the V3 shape, ANY Genesis shape can wear the Victoria 3 clothing, though results will vary somewhat.

Victoria 3 was replaced towards the end of 2006 by Victoria 4, if that gives you some idea of how old the clothing pack you talking about was released.
