Getting there :-)
And this is tonight's lot.
Image editing "done" for this tutorial so here are the rest.
And some more:
Adding more words so transmission can so be received at this time, sigh.
Would you like to know that all my rabbits are called "Foo-Foo" ... after the rabbit in a certain car commercial ;-)
Can't find it atm, but somewhere over on youtube is a rather strange video wherein which was made to look like it cometh from a certain government telling us how it is that they will be kidnapping certain healthy university students to be underground breeding stock and how everybody on the planet will be, well, living kinda wild amid the trashing of the planet by some asteroids and stuff, lots of stuff, and how afterwards - we're all going to be living happily ever after up here just like in Gene Roddenberry's world of Star Trek wherein money is no longer required and everybody has food, clothing, community shelters, etc ... like Star Trek is their idea of Paradise???
And the last 2 of this series:
Hope you found something useful therein.
And as promised, the .pdf file.
DA Link
Enjoy :-)

Time to learn.
Thank you so much! You are generous. Very appreciated
You're welcome.
If I missed a step you need to know about, feel free to ask questions ... if I remember the answer I will ;-)
Bookmarked so I can share it with people!
Patience, I just applaud your generosity and dedication to sharing this info with people. I wish there had been someone like you when I was starting out myself. ;)

Thank you. I do too. My hair is getting pretty thin lol ...
When I started ... okay, I had already bought a whole bunch of stuff which was fine ... thought well, I'd like to make some outfits that, good as their skills might be, there was [and still is] a huge gap in the clothing selections available. Thought I would make some. Right. So how does one use the programs? The plugins? Got some answers in the forums ... some from videos over at youtube ... and the "we're were working on it" [still waiting] from you know ... so ... decided maybe my time could be better spent learning how to use some of this stuff and make tutorials so more people could also use it without losing all their hair. Hair is precious. Trial and Error aka "experience" ... great teacher but it doesn't pay the bills. Nor make hair grow. For legacy the "how tos" get rather involved and to do it for $ one does have to invest some in helper tools or spend an inordinate amount of time doing everything by hand. Hence my shares for such clothing have been very minimal.
Genesis is so MUCH easier to make clothing for. Like wow! Even if it's not loaded full of morphs for 'everybody'; it's certainly doable by those that want them as now everybody has the tools as well.
Will be testing the tools for legacy work hehehe ... "soon" ... so far not impressed with this wonky welding but shall give it a go and see what happens. Have nearly 100 images covering the making of this dress in A3 shape to go for A3 legacy rigging. Lots of "fun" [read work] in Hexagon. A lot of these images are covering in more detail of "uvmapping" in Hexie. Getting a better grasp on "pinning" and so sharing that.

The biggest thing I remember about that is, use Poser's generated .cr2, do NOT use its generated obj. Delete it and change the filepath in the .cr2 to refer back to your original obj that is properly welded.
Thanks. I recall reading something like that but it was about the .pp2 files it generates. Think it depended upon whether or not people wanted the geometry separate or as part of the prop file though.
I'm using D/S3 or 4 for the legacy rigging.
Edit: catching up [do we ever really?] with some of the installations ... and yes SickleYield is the provider of the breast fixer for clothing :-)
Haven't tried it yet but I'm sure it'll be good.
Well, "what shall we try to make next"?

edit/update ... days later ... okay ... I'm moving on to work on some other projects for awhile like texturing and poses. Back whenever.
Can the same tutorial be applied to making custom shoes for genesis 2
Generally speaking, yes. People have told me that they've been making clothing for Genesis 2 ... same principles as for Genesis basic.
I have made a few clothing items for Genesis 2 Female using the female shape to model on. Then in the clothing creation dialogue tell TU to reverse the morphs [or whatever it was called, info on other computer].
Haven't tried shoes yet for them. Good idea.
I managed to import some shoes on genesis only by adjusting the rigging on genesis
Unfortunately I was unable to dress the default genesis 2 figure
Maybe I am missing something I don't know where I am going wrong
I used the following steps:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I figured it out how to make shoes for genesis 2
Load Genesis 2
Import shoe.obj
Pose the figure foot to fit the shoe
Genesis 2
Parameters- general- resolution level - base
Parameters- general- subdivision level 0
genesis export fig-gen2.obj
Edit -figure load morph pro- gen2.obj
Dial the morph
tools joint editor ( to show the joints
right click on the joints- edit-adjust rig to shape
select the shoe - Assets - Transfer utility
Source Scene Item: genesis 2
Source Item shape: morph- fig-gen2
Target item: shoe
Item shape: current
Projection template: footwear
Show options- content type : follower/accessory/leg/right/foot
(the shoe might look distorted but that’s ok)
Click on the shoe
parameters -show hidden properties
Morphs- dial to zero
---------------------------------------------------
nope.
Model the shoes to fit Genesis 2 "as it loads".
I just made a quick pair and am processing the images. Here's the first set. I'm sure your shoes are way prettier than mine however the idea is to model them to the "dress dummy" in the modeler.
I'll start posting the images ... hopefully can get 5 to a post.
[and these were made from step 1 so anybody just starting out may also benefit]
And the next five.
[numbered sequentially just in case they don't load that way]
And the next set ...
And the next set ...
And some more ;-)
And the last set for tonight ...
That's great
Thanks for making a tutorial just for shoes
I hope you add some heels on the shoes for posing purposes
Well not tonight. Thought for my first shoes I'd start with something simple lol ...
However for shoes, as I've seen others done, one models them exactly the same way. Yes they will look strange loading on the foot at an angle but that is how things are. Once imported, and rigged, THEN one selects the main figure [i.e. Genesis2F] and poses her. The shoes should follow. After posing her feet so that the following shoes look correct, then save that pose preset for Genesis2F.
For heels, it may or not be advantageous to use the shoe(s) template [I didn't for a couple of reasons, one of which is often we really don't need one and the other is that I suspect it would be for heels and duckies don't have heels to speak of].
I have also noted that some products are loaded "one shoe at a time" ... so if trying to make the 2 shoes in one product doesn't fly, export out the shoes "one at a time" from the modeler ... then import in "one at a time" to D/S and make the shoe clothing pieces "one at a time".
Anyway, I hope this helps you and others make some shoes for our triax figures. I know I've been seeing quite a few queries about shoes lately so there is certainly interest for them.
HU ... there's a neat competition going over here: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/30294/
Free 15-day trial of DressShop which doesn't "install" ... just run the .exe and you're good to go :-)
Anyone know if the is a Genesis & Genesis 2 pose copying the zero-pose of V4?
Here's the one I was thinking of:

You won't learn about making clothes with that program. It just takes a base item and you cut pieces out of it.

Interesting none the less. Think you can also import other models to cut up as well. However it cuts making triangles all around the edges which can look quite messy in D/S. I used Hexagon to apply a layer of smoothing to add some finesse to the edges. Also used Hexagon to redo the uvmap to take care of the side stretch marks.
What I do like about their starter meshes is they fit Genesis like a glove. Was able to import them into Hexagon and do some editing there without necessarily requiring the 'figure dress dummy'. Exporting them back out and then importing in D/S, making the clothing was a breeze. However again, one would need Hexagon or something to make movement and/or shaping morphs.
