AO vs IDL vs Bounce

I often use UberEnvironment2 for fill lighting. Generally I use the setting "Occlusion with directional shadows" but recently I tried a couple of the other settings, "Indirect light with directional shadows" and "bounce light (GI)"

Only problem is they increase the render times by a factor of about 100, so I have always aborted them.

Anyone know if they are actually worth the wait? Or indeed what they mean?

Thanks

Here is a great thread on UE2 http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/5320/

GI I don't use becasue of how long it takes to render on my crappy machine. :)

IDL gives you colour bleed from one object to another as it does in reality (no not the plug-in Reality) ;)

Directional Shadows is a misnomer as they aren't full accurate directional shadows so I only use Soft shadows leaving another light souce to provide directional shadows.
