Ok, I've figured out how to ADD a bone, but the bone won't Rotate,so I can't, say, make a spine to build off of, because the initial one wants to just to the left. Is there a detailed tutorial on this bone system?

Is this a TriAx figure, like Genesis, or a Legacy figure, like Victoria 4? Assuming it's DAZ Studio at all.
With a TriAx figure you need to assign a weight map to the rotations you want to affect the mesh, and give at least some polygons a non-zero weight on that map (which will reduce their weight for other rotations, by default).
I'm building a custom figure in Hexagon 2.5
Xavior, it will really help if you try to explain a little more what you are trying to achieve, so far I know you have modelled a coat in Hexagon for an unknown figure and now you wish to fit it on to said unknown figure in Daz Studio, Richard Haseletine will certainly get you going once he knows what you are up to :)
Ok let me rephrase, When I figured out how to activate the program to add bones, and that I needed to understand it to understand how to make the coat move with a character, I put the coat on the back burner to build a basic character. Now, I don't want to do as others have suggested to other people and copy the bone structure out of an existing model because it doesn't teach me how to do it, just how to copy someone elses work.
I have managed to get 2 bones on screen since my last post, but they were nowhere near each other and I could only get them to point to the left horizontally. I could move them but I couldn't rotate them...does that make sense?
Are you making a Figure that will just be made of 3D Bones? That is 100% different to Boning a figure with the Figure set up tools. Boning a Figure with the Built in Figure set up tools is just setting up 3D reference's that get saved to the figure so posing works.
Well I need it for several things, from building clothing to a cartoon like car. In this case I want to take a series of very basic shapes (4 cylinders, a box, and a sphere for the head), and apply a skeletal structure.
Bone rigging (the ability to bend and pose) is not done in Hexagon. Only the modeling. You then RIG (Bone) the figure (object or Grouped object mesh/s) in DS4 using the Figure Set Up Tools. This is Genesis with the BONES (Rigging) showing in DS.
Yes I understand that, I have managed to get the model into Daz, but I can't figure out how to work the rigging system works. When I tried all I got was 1 bone pointing left.

Searching google for tutorial videos "rigging in daz" quite a few turn up.
One in particular DS: Figure Setup Tools: Skeleton Setup - Creating From Scratch I have watched it before and found it to be helpful and opened my eyes a little more,
are you still having trouble moving bones,I know it seems fiddly at first.
