M4 Elite Body Shapes & Required products
I apologize for sounding so ignorant about this but can anyone answer these question for me.
I use Poser Pro 2012 for my DAZ3D products.
I want to use M4 but am not sure if I should be buying M5 instead as I do not have a Michael figure. I have seen a lot of very decent 3rd party products for M4 which are not available for M5. Would I be wasting my investment going with M4?
Do I need the Michael 4 Base and the M4 Body Morphs++ to be able to use the M4 Elite Body Morphs package? Or does the M4 Base already come with M4 Elite Body Morphs?
Finally, I also use V4 for my female characters but I want to use M4 as a male character instead of using Poser males. All of my V4 characters are morphed with the V4 muscle body morphs packages. Would there be any advantage changing over to Genesis instead for creating realistic muscular male and female characters and with Poser?
Thank you

M4 morphs will only work with M4. So yes you will need to have M4 if you want to use the Elite body shapes. THe M4 base, is just that, a base figure. Morphs++ is a must have additional purchase to really use M4 to his utmost versatility. THe elite body shapes are an additional package which can be very useful
M5 is himself a morph package for Genesis ( the base figure which comes with Daz Studio 4.5), and thus can only be used in Poser by using the DSON importer.
THe best way to buy M4 is to look for a bundle package and (hopefully) a sale offer on it.
This is the starter bundle http://www.daz3d.com/michael-4-complete
This is the Pro bundle, which has more clothes and things in it http://www.daz3d.com/michael-4-pro-bundle
And if you feel extremely wealthy, this one is the best buy of all, as you can see by what is included in it

Sales do happen quite regularly, it is often best to wait for a sale.
@chohole
Thank you so much for a really full and informative answer I appreciate it. I will wait for a sale to get the best bundle as you say.
Hello and please forgive me my poor English, but I think I have a question has to do with the subject:
Is that means that the a product written like that: Required Products: Victoria 4.2 Morphs++
will not fit the V5 not a pro suite?
(Will that: http://www.daz3d.com/caitlyn-for-victoria-42-genesis work with that: http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-5)
And once again, I am sorry I do not understand the meaning of "Morphs++".
Jaderail, thank you so much for your such a fast answer.
Morphs reshape the figure, or parts of it. Morphs++ is set of basic moprhs that, combined with the base figure, gives you the ability to achieve a wide range of shapes. Other morph sets tend to be more focussed. The Victoria 4.2 shape for Genesis and Victroia 5 are both shapes (and in the case of V5 UV sets) for Genesis, so they can be mixed; the Victoria Morphs ++ are for Victoria 4 and don't work on Genesis.
pxpmedia3d, it is possible to use M4 (Base) plus M4 Elite Body Shapes without also owning M4 Morphs++. That's what I have at the moment, actually. I do agree with chohole that M4 Morphs++ is pretty essential if you want to use Michael 4 a lot...the only reason I don't have his Morphs++ is that I don't use him very much (99% of the time I use the Genesis figure). The Elite Body Shapes don't actually require you to have Morphs++. However, waiting to get the best bundle on sale is probably a good idea.
bravedwarf.israel: The character you linked to is a character for Victoria 4 AND Genesis, which mean you need either:
a) Victoria 4.2 Base and Victoria 4.2 Morphs++, or
b) Genesis, V4 and M4 Shapes for Genesis, and Genesis Evolutions Head and Body Morphs.
In terms of using Caitlyn with the Victoria 5 shape instead of the Victoria 4 shape for Genesis, that's not how the character was intended to be used...you could do it, and the results might look good, but the resulting character would look different than in the promo images.
Thank you, Richard Haseltine and Scott-Livingston, I feel a bit smarter now (and less lost).
