Newbie needing help with Aging Morph install

Hi all! ^_^

I'm brand new to 3D and so far I am just loving it ^_^ Daz is an amazing program. After many years of trying to paint my characters by hand, I'm seeing them just come to life, right before my eyes. I hope to spend many happy hours working with this program, making covers and illustrations to my scifi WIP!

I have an install (or locating) issue with the Aging Morphs for Genesis. I looked through this forum and found one other related thread, but it didn't solve my problem. I have been using the DIM on my Dell Windows 7 PC with no issues, and have successfully installed and used the Genesis starter packs, the Mil Cat, Dog and Horse, Buccaneer clothing, Eyebrows for Genesis, and M5, and others, all with no problem. So the Install Manager and the Daz software seem to be working properly, and I think I understand the basic file structure because I can usually find what I need. But I don't know what's going wrong with these Aging Morphs.

I have installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled the Aging Morphs using the DIM. The only related items I can find (in both the Content Library and the Smart Content pane,) are eight aging presets. I cannot locate any sliders to fine-tweak these. Worse, when I apply one of the M5 aging presets to the M5 figure, it appears to have no effect whatsoever. None of the presets are working.

I believe some files must be getting left out of the library. I unzipped the package and saw many feature-specific morphs in the downloaded file, which are apparently not installing in Daz. Either that, or I am looking in the wrong place for them. I tried using the Content Library file search feature to locate them on the disc, but it came up with nothing even though I know they're on there. Would someone be so kind as to help me solve this? ^_^;

    I find only the 8 icons also. You need to be sure the Genesis is selected in the Scene Tab then Apply the Morph. I can the open Parameters>Actor and find all the Sliders.

    My Default file location is Daz Studio Formats>My DAZ 3D Library>Presets>Characters>Aging Body Morph Presets.
    The Aging Face is in Shaping Actor>Aging Head or Body after I apply a body preset.

    If yours is not Applying I'm not sure they are installed properly.

    Thank you so much for your reply. It helped me quickly determine that in fact the morphs were not installed, even though the DIM went through the motions and said they were.

    I solved the problem by not using the Daz Installer. I manually re-downloaded the files from my Daz account and clicked on the included .exe file, which I had not seen when using the DIM. This ran a standalone installer which properly installed the morphs. When I next opened Daz Studio, I got a message asking if Daz should import the morphs. I clicked OK and am happy to report they are now working just fine! ^_^

    I think newbies like me would probably benefit from a readme file that indicates these morphs have their own installer. I seem to recall running into a less confusing version of this with another Daz file, and I will watch for this type of thing from now on.

    Thanks again for your help! ^_^

    I'm not sure it was a DIM issue, I installed mine using the DIM. I'm happy you now have it working but it could be a Failed DIM install that it just did not Flag. When all else fails the Exe is a nice fall back. Maybe you installed to a Folder not mapped properly?

    I installed using the defaults, exactly the same as I have installed everything else. I also made it a point to map my directories when starting to use Daz about two weeks ago, following one of the online tutorials. It's probably as you say, some kind of failed install. In that case, DIM failed twice, and failed to notify both times.

    The only other serious installation issues I have had were with some third party freebies. ^_^;

    The Site did get hit HARD when DS4.6 went live. If you DIM installed at that time it very well might have failed.

    Third Party installs are my bread and butter, if you need help just ask. And a Link to the item would help lots.

    I bet that's the best explanation. I downloaded the 4.6 too, but haven't felt like trying to install it when 4.5 is working so well for me. I'll try upgrading later, after I've satisfied my craving to actually see all my characters for the first time!

    Thanks again for your help, and I'll be sure to ask when I run into another stubborn installation! ^_^

  • Hi all,

    I'm having the same issue even after following eponica instructions.

    I installed Aging Morphs for Genesis 8 Male(s) via the Daz Central App like any other daz product. 8 body morphs are shown under this product in the Smart tab. I applied one of these to a Genesis 8 Male and nothing happend.

    Under shaping>editor>Genesis 8 Male>Actor>Full Body and shaping>editor>Genesis 8 Male>Actor>Head none of the morph dials are present.

    I then re-installed again via the Daz Central App and no luck.

    I then did as eponica suggested and done a manual install of this 15996_AgingMorphsForGenesis_1.0_trx.exe from my daz account and again I dont see any of the morph dials.

    Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong please?

    Many thanks
