I've always wanted to try digital art..so I downloaded Daz last night..as well as some nifty content that caught my eye and some freebies. I had a lot of fun toying with it last night after I finally got everything installed..but I noticed that the 'Happily Ever after' Dress I bought isn't showing up in Daz. and I'm not sure how I go about finding out why it's not there and or how to fix it.

I don't know if that is an item which shows up in Smart Content -- try in Content Library > Poser Formats > [your content folder] > Figures

I've tried that. So I'm wondering if possibly I have something wrong..a plug-in ooor model type or something. I'm not very computer savy >.<
It appears as if I'm missing more then just that one dress now that I've thoroughly looked through my content in both the smart content and the content library.

Did you install it with DIM, an installer, or manually extracting from a zip?

Hover over the item in DIM to get the install path, and right-click and choose "Installed Files" to see what the exact path below that is.

When you hover over the item, the pop-up window should say at the bottom "Installed To" and give the path to the content folder. Make sure that's the content folder you're using in DAZ Studio. When you right-click and choose "Installed Files", look through that list for "Runtime:Libraries:Characters" -- that'll be where the main items are installed.
