Can't use Gen X full version

I initially purchased the Gen X (upgrade from Gen 4) version. I found out that wouldn't work because I needed a validation key from Gen 4 at Renderosity, which I don't have. I got the full version of Gen X, uninstalled the old one, restarted, and it's still asking me for a validation key. Please help

Have you looked in your My Account > My Serial Numbers area. Mine is in there under "Serialnumber for Genesis Generation X"

When you get it, go to Help > About Installed Plugins, and enter it there.

Now that I have Gen X working, I need help using it to transfer M4 to Genesis.

I am trying to use it to transfer a figure that is using a character injection that has been further modified with M4 Morphs ++ and M4 Muscle Morphs. The farthest I got was dragging the M4 figure, M4 ++ and Muscle Morphs all to the Gen X window and then save it under "create a single morph" option but that didn't work. Anyone know what to do?

One of the best tuts I know of, is a Wink video here : http://takoyakida.webs.com/videos/GenX_Tut.htm

It shows what to do in a step by step way, I used it myself, but I have not used GenX for ages

Yeah I previously followed that video's instructions for transferring a head from M4 to Genesis. After testing the head morph on a genesis figure, it only morphed the shape of the head in an odd looking way and didn't affect the eyes, nose, mouth, etc. The texture for the body and face also looks messed up on the Genesis figure. I'm really lost at what to do

Is M4 Muscle Morphs compatible with Genesis body through Gen X?

For the textures, go to the Surfaces pane, select all surfaces, and change UVset to M4 (near the bottom of the list).

Are you applying the M4 shape to Genesis?

Yes I am going to the genesis figure and then putting the Michael 4 morph at 100 in the editor tab under shaping. After that I try applying my head morph I made and it ends up looking strange and nothing how it did on M4. I also can't find any option to change the UV set to M4 in under the surfaces tab. There are a few other options there, but the M4 UV option isn't

I made some progress by dragging M4 base head, M4 base body, M4 elite shapes, M4 morphs ++, and M4 muscle morphs all into the Gen X transfer window. With my original M4 figure that uses all those morphs loaded into the scene, I selected "Get Values from Figure in Scene" with the Select button in the Gen X window. I made the morph successfully and tested it on the Genesis figure. As I moved the slider I notice that the body is about the same as the original one when turned to half way strength. But when turned to 100 (I want a perfect match), it becomes distorted and overly large. Also, the head still does not morph properly and looks very strange. And finally, the texture materials used for the original M4 figure won't stick to the newly morphed Genesis figure.

Appreciate the help so far, any ideas?

I did some reading and found that the M4 > Genesis conversions via Gen X won't match 100% for a number of technical reasons. That in mind, I was able to achieve a fairly close match in Genesis to my original. This will allow me to use the auto-fit feature to export preconfigured clothing for each character with only a little touch up in 3ds max needed, which was my original goal.

I just read this thread, I was getting a little down about it until your last post. I'm glad you can use your stuff. It made my semi bad day just a bit better. Thank You for posting that things are good. I needed that.
