Problem with scale dials

When I scale a part, sometimes, it has separate scales for x, y, and z axes--other times, it only has a single scale dial for all dimentions. How do I get the ability to scale each dimention separately back. On some pieces, I've been able to scale the dimentions separately--then later, the same piece only lets me the entire piece, not x, y, and z independantly. HELP! PLEASE!

    In DAZ Studio? Click the Options button (the rectangle with horizontal lines) in the upper corner of the Parameters or Shaping tab and select "Show Hidden Parameters"
