Question about textures

edited December 1969 in New Users

I'm having the hardest time figuring this out.

All I want to do is create a texture over the "skin" texture to make it look like my female figures are wearing underwear/bikini.. without actually using models. I used to do this in poser all the time, and I can't seem to make it work in Daz.

I take it that you want to paint over the skin texture as applied to a figure?

Are you intending to do it in Photoshop or similar? Why can't you do it now, can you not find the texture?

When you load your figure, look in the Surfaces pane, and you will see what textures are being used. Click on the little texture icon as shown, and use the Browse option, which will take you to the folder directly. If you load the image into a paint program, remember to save it under a different name, or you will overwrite the original texture.

    Does that help?

If you save the painted clothes layer as png file with transparency you can use the Layered Image Editor to overlay it on any texture that uses the same UV mapping.
