beta.204 forgets while rendering hair - render never ends...

I'm suddenly getting an issue where beta.204 hangs(?) on a single tile (or a few tiles) while the rest continue to render.... The render progress shows at 100% but Carrara thinks it is still rendering. Attempting to navigate away triggers the "Do you want to abort this render?" message, and then crashes with no control over the interface....
Seems very much involved in the rendering of hair.
Anyone else seen similar behavior?

I am having the same issue. Though I am not using hair. I thought it might be the large file sizes (8000px wide), but really I haven't a clue what is causing it. I have been able to force quit, open and render again without issue.
I am on Mac osX.8.3.... I have to force quit. I have done many other images under similar circumstances. This issue seems to have started this morning - and I am running half a dozen other programs at the same time....
What should I be looking for? A memory leak? Task manager?
I am running Mac OSX 10.7.5. I usually have most of the CS6 suite open. I think I have noticed that my computer has gone to sleep prior to this, but I am not sure. This last time (it happened a couple hours ago) I was able to save the image, which didn't trigger the abort rendering dialog. Trying to get back to the modeling room did trigger it. Before I did all this, I opened my activity monitor and saw the processors were idle.
The image attached is where the renderer "stuck". I left it for 20 min and there was no movement.
That is so pretty. What are you doing there? Is that geometry?

Thanks! :)
Its three "glass" tubes with a bunch of absorption and in-scattering. And a color gradient for its color.
