Can't get gen3 Sci Fi Boots to autofit gen8

Purchased these boots yesterday: https://www.daz3d.com/sci-fi-boots-for-genesis-3-female-s. The problem I'm having is that they won't autofit correctly on my gen8 characters. They fit the lower leg ok but the feet autofit outside the boots. What to do?

Clumsy fix perhaps, but could you make the bits that stick out invisible? e.g. click on the eye in the scene tab to make them vanish
