A way to adjust a Model?

I have the Hero-Impact model, the base of which is a floor and a wall, both cratered. Problaby is I just need the base...not the wall. But this is all one piece and I can't find a way to separate it. Is there a way using geometry tools to break this model into sections? I have used Geometry Editor in the Tools Settings pain, but it seems to only highlight the geometry.

  • Can you make the wall invisible in the surface tab?

Thanks, but I thought of that and the L-shape is all one element. Not ever surfaces are separate so I can't make just the upright part invisible. I'd also tried to select that geometry and maybe squash it down by scaling the Y-axis, but the whole model adjusted.

You can use the geometry editor to create new surfaces. Select the polygons you want to hide, right click and under "Geometry Assignment" chose "Create Surface from Selected". Give it a name, then the polygons you selected are now in this surface and you can make them invisible. If it's too difficult to do it all in one go, do this for the first group of polygons, then select more polygons and use "Assign To Surface" to add them to your surface.
