New User L4Help

Greetings to all who may or may not be able or willing to help me. I'm unfamiliar with the industry terms as I'm not in the industry, so when I describe my question, I'll do my best to guide you to understanding what it is I'm trying to do.

I'm looking to edit the wireframe of the most realistic models I can find. I have no interest in sticking to 'humans', but instead plan on using them as a template to create some sort of amalgamation of infernal creatures that use humans as a host or a vessel. It'd be nice to erase the face and then use the inside of the wireframe as a stand to draw points and etc from. How would I go about this? I'm insanely new to it all and would like to be pointed in a better direction rather than stumbling across the information that I'm looking for in small bits.

By editing the wireframe, I mean simply that - I can do articulation of the models as per the studio allows me, but I'd rather create a horn, tendrils, fangs, etc etc and slap them on to some of these models. So... help a brother out  D: <3

As a starting point, you'd need a modelling software to create the morphs (you missed a really great webinar on Saturday dealing with character Creation by Sickleyield)..

Anyway, you'd make your changes is the modelling software (you can try Hexagon, which comes free from DAZ, or Blender, which is a free software, or buy whatever software you like).

Then, you'd have to learn something about "geografts", which are things attached to a body, though for most purposes, you'd probably get away with a simple prop and shove that into position.

Then, you'd need an image editor (like Gimp or photoshop) to create a texture map for your item. In Blender and Hexagon you create the UV-map, and from that, a template for the textures, so that everything is ending up where it's supposed to be.

But mostly, the most important thing you'd need to do is to familiarize yourself with the modeller of your choice.

EDIT: Here's a list of Hexagon tutorials: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/298/hexagon-tutorial-list#latest
