V2 Materials and Shaders

Creating Victoria 2 iRay Material Files
This is a material preset for Arrow3D's Victoria 2 Textures. (Found here: https://web.archive.org/web/20130807120808/http://arrow3d.com/files/V2textures.zip). Textures must be downloaded to make the preset work. There is also a requirement of some manipulation to the files. This allows the iray preset to produce a better result. So included in the zip is a small pdf tutorial that will allow the artist to create the additional bump files and guidance on how to modify the material preset so that it can be used successfully. The tutorial does contain an example on how to take other Victoria 2 texture sets and create the iray preset for the set. Contained within the package is the file structure for setting up the Arrow3D texture set, the material preset and the pdf tutorial.

Add "Boxer Shorts" at the PhilC link above, and add the following to "Characters":
Cyclops Studio and 3D Menagerie for their "Shades of Mike" project. TrekkieGrrrl has textures for both Mike and Viki under Characters, as well.

The PoserFashion outfit for M2 doesn't seem to have a working link anymore.

Here is a list of the direct page links to my legacy Victoria 2 items. Please, please be aware that these were among some of the very first freebies I ever made. (My website's been online since 2004, and I started doing 3D/Poser in 2002, so.. yeah. LOL) I will try to make a note of the non-standard oddities as need be with the links.

These items are posted ONLY on my website. As there seems to be at least a few folks who have trouble with my website navigation, I just wanted to put the direct page-links up to avoid any possible confusion with the item listing.

This is a face-ONLY texture. No body texture. No morphs (I hadn't learned how to save them in an acceptably distributable manner yet when I made her.)

Shyna's face texture is intended to be used with all external body parts set to true white in color. I set the "Pupil Slit" dial to an even 1.000 to achieve the slitted look to her eyes. The eye color was just my setting the ambient color of the iris to gold, and setting the ambient value to 100%. There are NO MAT pose files associated with this one; this was literally my first character ever, so I'm afraid you'll have to apply the face texture by hand.

*Note* Not intended for photo-realism, or to be photo-realistic in ANY way.

This also does have a MAT pose, and contains both a body and a head texture. There's also four full-body poses (with a zero'ing pose included) bundled in with the file. I suppose Rayne is where I sort of started my rhythm for sometimes bundling body poses with my characters. LOL I cannot remember if she included any sort of a MOR or shaping morphs. (There is also a Victoria 3 version of Rayne in the Characters section of my website. I wound up converting the texture maps over after V3 came out.)

*Note* Rayne was also not intended to be photo-realistic in any fashion.

These are just a set of full body poses for Victoria 2. I forget how many I had in the set. I don't think there was a zero'ing pose in this one. I don't think I had started structuring my zip files by the standards yet, so just dump them into whatever folder you want them in.

Wow, the Boris and Roxanne morphs are beautiful! I may get some more use out of M2 and V2 yet. I do have one question, though. Is there anyway to get M2 and V2's clothing to fit on them?

If you are using PP2014 - copy morphs from works fine!

The image below is of Roxanne (as a Dwarf) in the DNA Fit for a Queen dress in DAZ Studio 4.6. I just used the smoothing tool on the dress and bumped the iterations up to 16. You can find the smoothing tool by selecting the dress in the scene tab. Go up to the top right corner where there is an arrow and 4 lines. click on this go to Edit then Geometry and then Apply Smoothing Modifier. There will now be another line item called Mesh Smoothing on the parameter tab of the dress. Click on that and set the number of iterations from 2 to 16. I also used the Mesh Smoothing on Roxanne to get some of the pointy polygons to go away. I did scale up her thighs to get her feet to show below the dress.

I just looked in my database and I never got the Wee Folks file but I downloaded Roxanne a year ago and these presets were included in that file. So Capsces' must have combined these into one package which is a good thing.
