Characters are black in Texture Shaded Draw Style but visible in Nvidia Draw Style

in New Users
I just bought DAZ Studio Iray HDR Outdoor Environments. When I have it loaded and a couple characters loaded and then set the DrawStyle Option set to Texture Shaded, the characters are just black and the background is grey.
I think I understand that the background will only show up in Nvidia Iray DrawStyle, but why are the characters black? Changing Auto Headlamp doesn't do anything.
I need to see the characters in Texture Shaded mode so I can work with my scene and posing, etc., without having to wait for a re-draw every time I move anything.

Textured preview does not use HDRI lighting, if the AutoHeadlamp is off (likely) then there is no light as far as that mode is concerned.
Thank you, Richard. Quick question about DAZ Studio Iray HDR Outdoor Environments......
I loaded the Maui beach scene with its default HDRI lighting. The characters aren't rendering as brightly as the scene would have it in real life. In other words, the beach, sky, water, etc., is lit up with very bright sunlight, but it's as if the characters are standing in the shade, even though they are in the direct sun.
What's the best way to brighten them up to make it appear as it they were in the direct, bright sun? I tried changing the environment intensity, but that increased everything proportionatley. I just need the characters brighter. I also tried increasing the Film ISO a bit.
Is there a way to control the intensity of the sun as it beams onto the characters in these pre-made HDRI scenes?
I do recal a discussion similar to this, but I'm not sure if it was about this set or what the solution was.
