First it would not accept my serial number. So installed as trial. Guess I have to wait for the
30 days to be up? At that time will I be expected to purchase it again?

Second I had purchaced a few items and no clue where to install...No read me...

It located in
C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\Carrara8

    I think you may need to Run as Admin to enter the serial number.

    installing on Win XP computer..not Win7.....

    You can right click on the installer and change the compatibility mode for XP.
