Thank for your reply. First step and 3rd step worked well. The 2nd step, all materials IDs are still in black. I had to manually change each color so that I can use the "find edge" effect on photoshop for the outline layer. In my first attempt, all worked fine. After that, I only get all black on step 2.

All I can guess is that the first time you did it the material IDs weren't all black.

Reminder that there are material ID randomization scripts in the product, to help easily set that up.
