Help I’m in the dark

I’ve loaded a scene from my recent order ‘On my own Environment’ but everything is very dark so I can barely see what’s going on, is there a setting I need to adjust so I can see what’s happening in my scene?

Then how do I get my Genesis character to appear in the room I want her to appear in?

Many thanks.

I don't have that product myself, but unless it comes with its own light presets (the product page doesn't mention that), the Iray environment dome will not illuminate the rooms as they are, since they appear to have ceilings. The ceilings will block any Iray lighting outside of the structure, just as would be the case in the real world. You will need to add some inside lighting to illuminate your scene (or remove the ceilings).

Make sure the preview lights are turned on in the "Window" tab up top if you're talking about your viewport being too dark. It won't affect the render.

You could go to Top View, select everything, and move it all so that the place you want your character to appear at is centered on the main cross lines. (Hiding the roof/ceiling might help)

  • Many thanks folks I will give those suggestions a try today, mich appreciated.
