    A few more WIPS

Height map for terrain was made in Photoshop using a shape with a gradient. 'Hero Shadow' on the glowing timegate was used a Shadow Catcher. Shadow pass...ugh, I ran out of time...barely noticeable.

Very nice, love how the final image turned out! And I am enamoured of that shadow pass!

No point in extending it for me.  However, if anyone is interested in how I made curly hair that could be straightened by getting wet, see here.

Thanks fir for that explanation. , ! Whenever I do stuff like that the vertex order gets shuffled or the morph target obj comes in at a different size or position

    Thanks head wax!

Years ago I found an old chart for making your own passes...you can find it here:

    http://www.g-3d.com/Newer_AAC_3d_multi.html

I think the native shadow pass from Carrara only renders cast shadows? I don't know, sometimes when I use it it looks painfully anemic, full of jaggies. For mine I set the Background to pure white, then created a 'white shader' where all channels are set to 'none', except color, which is set to pure white. Apply that shader to everything in your scene and render.

Here is a link to a recent test I did trying to manipulate a bunch of custom passes in post vs. Carrara's native Realistic Sky/Atmosphere:

I didn't really take advantage of it in the image for challange because I got kind of discombobulated at the end. Anyways...

    The unforeseen downside to cannibalism?

    Nope.  Too cerebral.

Unfortunately, the upside has been overdone.

    We need something new.

Hey UB one idea is to illustrate a quote from a book or poem.

Lot's of examples here. You could give five examples and people could pick another if they wanted

    https://www.shortlist.com/entertainment/books/the-40-most-powerful-literary-quotes/96712

    eg  from that list

    "Terror made me cruel"

“The only people for me are the mad ones."

"It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen."

The beautiful thing on that site is that the book cover illustrations that are featured with the quotes are very evocative.

40 most powerful quotes?  40th challenge?  could be a good fit.

The quote from 1984 has been used already,  Was the PC club render challenge theme for last month

How's about     "I had this weird dream"
