I don't see the point of this figure. It has no advantages over G1, in fact it's a step down. Is DAZ now going backward in character design?

So are you saying DAZ realized how badly they screwed up alienating the Poser crowd with Genesis so decided to alienate the rest of us with Genesis 2?
DAZ didn't have to go out of their way to do that for me.
Now am I happy I didn't spend much on Genesis ? Hell yes. Am I sad I have to buy all those morphs again for genesis 2? No, i just wont, simple as that.

Ooooh. Wont last long. DAZ has given me sufficient ammo on this one to go on a long rip. But to what purpose?
I could point out all the flaws in the release of this figure, give a DAZ_ a chance to tell me how wrong I am. But why?
I too am not buying into G2/V6. I have more content than I'll ever be able to use. I plan to spend my time learning and creating instead of shopping. Perhaps I will have enough $ stashed away that I can buy Carrara 9 when it is finally released.
At this point I would be leery of spending anything on ether figure. Despite posts to the contrary I doubt DAZ will support both figures.
DAZ can't take genesis in 2 different directions. Has DAZ ever continued to develop for one generation once the next is out?
Personally I'd bet with in 6 months of the release of Mike6 they will be nailing the lid on genesis 1's coffin.
With the cost of this I can't keep reinvesting in the same things over and over. I am far more interested in good tools that help move my investment forward, then replacing everything with each new dolly.
One of the things I hated going from mil3 to mil4 was all that money I spent on content for mil3 couldn't; easily, be moved up to mil4. My second biggest investment in this; after the actual apps, is hirez skins.
As I said, for me the biggest boon to genesis was not the weightmapping, but autofit and UVs that allowed me to use mil4 hirz skins. I'd be more whiling to invest money in to skins, clothes, and poses, knowing as the figures advance I can move the content forward to them. Not having to rebuy clothes, rebuy skins, rebuy poses with every new generation of figure, means more money to spend on plugins, apps, sets, expansions, and add ons, ect.

Looks more like Genesis 1.1 but of course calling it such would be confusing when most G1 addons are incompatible without conversion. I'd have no problem with a new figure if it had some significant improvements. This one apparently does not, or the presentation is severely lacking.
