geometry editor daz3d select by surface

I have an outfit that has the same material for the belt and the top and I just want to remove the belt with the geometry editor.
Is there a way I can only select this surface and then remove the top from the selection to delete the belt?
edit: NVM I hid the "body" material of the outfit and then there was only the belt and top and was able to remove it that way.-

Another option, depending on how the model was made, might have been to select one polygon on the belt (or on the top) and then press cmd/ctrl * to select all of the connected polygons, then if necessary use the - buttons in tool Settings to exclude any excess selections.
