Is the a way to shape a model with a picture of the subject

Does daz 4.10 have a way to load a picture of a subject u are trying to model? For now I am just opening daz and a separate application to view a image and just switching back and forth between applications. Seems like thered be a better way. A way to load an image of the subject into daz and set some kind of transparency to see both at Sam time?

Use the background (or is it environment?) tab to load an image. You should have the render setting/image size match the image you use or there will be some distortion. Sorry, not at my DAZ machine so I can't confirm the names of the tabs. The background tab lets you set the color or put in an image.

BTW: I should mention it's a lot easier to model in other programs. Example: Hexagon (free), Blender (free). Or others which are more pricey (Carrera, Modo, Lightwave, etc).

  • Thanks Marc. Yes easier to model but not from scratch. Started with daz and will go to free modeler at some point... Gonna miss sliders, they seem so easy when u have the right morph. Yes pricey software is just that... Pricey. Haven't heard of hexagon. Will look.

COnsider creating a plane (z-axis positive). scale the plane to your image's proportions, and then set the diffuse channel to your chosen image/photograph.  That provides a flat surface on which your image is projected.  You can then hide it/move it, etc and you have a good reference.
