Skin details not showing with Iray

Hello everyone!

I have been using Daz Studio for a few months, but I feel like I know nothing yet (well, I guess even after a few years I'll still feel like this hahaha).

The thing is, I don't know which parameters I'm using wrong (or maybe I'm not using at all any parametre for this porpouse), but my renders with Iray doesn't show the skin imperfections.

This is my viewport:

But this is my result with Iray:

As you can see, is like it has a layer of make-up and some photoshop too. Can someone point what I'm doing wrong here?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Your Viewport is set for Texture Shaded so is an OpenGL view of the skin which isn't correct. The Iray render looks fine and is the way the skin should look.

Oh, I see. I thought the skin I was using has more freckles and "imperfections" (Alexandra 8), and that I wasn't able to render them well with my settings.

You can still check if the texture compression settings have an influence on the result ( Render settings / Advanced  , at the top) .

Standard is quite low at 512 med. Try to increase that up to 4096 / 4096 to get the best result.

This is essential when you have textures with very sharp lines or writings etc. or maybe tattoos on skin.

    Kind regards, Eagle99

    Thanks for the help :)

I tried it, but I can't see much difference (if any). I guess I'll need to play with the shaders, surfaces, etc. I'm reading some guides, but since it takes a lot to render one scene, is going to be slow learning haha.

Is there any way to force to use better textures/bigger for the genesis model? I'm trying to find something like this in the surface tab.
