New ssd, want to move the base figures there

So I have a ssd now with 500gb and would like to move at least the base figures there like G2, V4, G8 and G3 to make them load faster. I've created a bunch of custom characters from these figures that I'd like to keep. Would it be save to delete the base figures and install them again to the ssd and adding the path of the content libary in DAZ3D without loosing my figures? Will I loose all my characters then because they can't find the base figure anymore?

I usually load them as a scene subset and they are build with people like Pepper for Genesis 3 and 8 Female https://www.daz3d.com/pepper-for-genesis-3-and-8-female and some custom textures and morphs I made in zbrush and PS.

In general, you can just move the content to the new drive and use Edit>Preferences>Content tab>Content Directory Manager to update the paths. If you installed with DIM, rather than Connect, then it will still think the files are in the old location unless you manually edit the .dsx files in the Manifests folder, but for the most part if you just click the gear icon at top-right of the DIM Interface and edit/replace the path in the Installation tab, then for Content Updates select Install to selected path instead of Install to Respective Install Paths you will be OK (the onyl issue is likely to be when an update should remove a file and not repalce it).
