UV Mapping Question
Okay, so complete and total new user to Hexigon, opened it for the first time 2 nights ago and just played with primatives for a few minutes. Not new to 3D modeling applications, just this one :)
Anyway, can someone point me in the direction of a tutorial on how to change the UV mapping for an object? Found a usable simple chair, but the mapping for textures in the legs and spindles goes the wrong way for wood grains. Should tile the legnth of the spindle, not across the diameter.
And actually, the whole chair appears to be one texture group, don't mind so much, but it might be more interesting if Legs and spindles where seperated from the Back and seat, and actually back and seat should be seperated anyway to allow for applicae to be applied to the back and not have a character sitting on them as well. (hope that made sense.)
Anyway, any help here would be appreciated.
Thanks,
V

You're right about the legs/spindles, the grain should run the length. You do not need to change the UV map, just re-do the texture with your own.
Most of Gary Miller's tutorials cover projects from start to finish, I think this one will help you (pt1 of 3)-
