Which figure are you using? Are you attempting to adjust the chin in a modelling program (if so, which one), or using the morph sliders within DAZ Studio?
Those are critically important questions.
And which figure? Do you have any of the addon morph packages, particularly for the head for that figure? The base morphs that come with the figures are more limiting.
Hi,
Thanks for helping out.
The figure is: https://www.daz3d.com/ly-naryssa-hd-for-genesis-8-female
And yes i have the addon on morph packages
Here is the sliders i have for the chin: https://gyazo.com/bfc5d60fceac4071a4ca440f5c7ebc2a
Here are the sliders i have for the jaw: https://gyazo.com/5c3183b0afd75d80f3e52ce962fae4cc
The mouth / cheecks & lips are perfect as they are now so should stay like that./
Thanks again
OK, its Genesis 8 Female, then (the character - Naryssa - is not crtical as it only establishes a morph starting point). Now we're cooking.
"The mouth / cheecks & lips are perfect as they are now so should stay like that./" The mesh is interconnected, so often changing one part of it, especially if it is adjacent can often affect other parts to some degree. So you may have to revisit those other areas and tweak them once you are satisfied with the chin.
You will need to do several things to achieve what you are after, as shown in your first example;
1 First you need to minimize the chin crease, by adjusting the Chin Crease Fill Slider to 100%.
2. Secondly, you will need to adjust the lower lip so that it doesn't protrude in profile, by adjusting the Lip Bottom Out-In slider to around -40 or -50%.
That should give you that straight chin profile you have shown.
3. Now you should be able to extend your chin outwards while retaining the profile, but you are going to need to install one more (very useful IMO) morph package. The package is free and is based upon DieTrying's 182 Morphs originally for V4. Don't worry, it is safe and works quite well for those little extras that you sometimes need. You can get it here:
http://www.sharecg.com/v/88550/favorite/21/DAZ-Studio/DieTrying-Morphs-for-G8-FFixed
That will give you Chin back and Chin short sliders that can be used to move the chin forwards and extend its length, respectively. (Both will need to be slid to negative values for your purposes.
Here's a screen shot of the base G8F with the changes:
perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks so so much! now i have that right ;)
Normally i would use facegen to make a face request but the person im making this for only give me 2 pics and didnt want to give more. Quite alright bit those pics aren't facegen optimal and wont work.
So need to try and build this up from almost scratch.
alright so 1 more things im strugling with
The Top of the lips, are a bit like heart shape formed.
The is a more bigger "gap" down in the middel of the lip in center of the nose/septum
see here: https://gyazo.com/33db34502b3b1985d8ae1dd392faf92f
Any idea on how to do this and i have morphs for this also but just tell me what i need.
When you have figured out on how to make it, can you let me know the sliders that you've used?
Thanks again
The Genesis 8 Female Head Morphs package comes with a "Lips Heart" slider. https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-8-female-head-morphs
To achieve that affect you are going to need to use the Philtrum Width and Philtrum Depth sliders. First you will need to select the little gear-shaped icon on the left of each slider, select Parameter Settings from the popup dialogue that appears, and uncheck "Use Limits" in the Parameter Settings dialogue that appears. Click Accept. Remember, you'll need to do this for both the sliders. Now you can slide the parameters to negative settings. To get the "notch" very small, slide the Philtrum Width to - 112 %. This will shrink the notch, but leave a very narrow Philtrum above the lip that looks like a furrow. To soften this effect, slide the Philtrum Depth to - 112 % as well. The attached image 1 shows the default G8F lips and the second attached image shows the lips after the adjustments. That takes care of the notch, but you'll still need some tweaking to get the effect shown in your image. Image 3 attached shows the result of adding approx. 53% of the Lips curves upper slider plus approx. 50% of the Lips Thin slider.
Now of course I am starting with a base G8F which has a hypothetically neutral morph position in applying these settings, You will be starting with a character morph that will undoubtedly already have some sort of lip morphs, so you may require more or less settings than those I used. But those sliders should allow you to make the necessary adjustments.
