a try at 800px
a try at 1000 px
(sized it to 800 px which is the max allowed width. ~mod)
Hey there, nice pic. Just to let you know, they don't like it when we post the full-size image over 800 px wide. If they catch you, they'll just basically ask you to edit the width back to 800 px or less. But welcome here.
You can also go back to your post where you first linked the image, edit the post, and then use the image button right there in the original post.

This is an option you could try that a few people also have used... A while back I set up a thread specifically for linking to thumbnails... It keeps other threads neater, and allows you to insert the link to the image into your post.
So say you are describing how you made something or asking a question... You can write a few lines describing the problem, insert the image and maybe below the image say something like "in the above image you can see the problem with (whatever)"...

It is worth noting that in each post you can attach multiple thumbnails... I never tested what the maximum is (maybe one of the mods might know), but one forumite has at least fifteen or more thumbnails attached to one post.
You just make a post, you probably need to write something text wise, you could just write "Megh" or "Moo" if you have nothing to say and then attach whatever images to the post... You don't have to downsize those... (Uh, mods correct me if I'm wrong on that, because I never do that)... Once you make the post click on the image you want to add to the the important or relevant post, and get/copy its URL address... Then in the post you actually care about, using the add an image link icon thingie in the toolbar at the top of the post window, add the image...
That thingie above... Anyway...
As noted previously, keep it to 800 pixels across... I usually keep mine to 700 or 750 because there doesn't seem to be a noticeable difference.
It keeps the posts neater, allows for more images accessible easier, doesn't require remembering any fancy technical stuff and has 10% fewer calories than other posting methods and its recommended by three out of four dentists who chew gum and were bribed by me to agree.
EDITED TO ADD...
I stupidly forgot to mention, that if you don't like the idea of using another thread, you can use your own (this one)... You can just keep adding thumbnails to the posts and linking to them wherever you want to use them... This way they are all where you can find them.
