BMRK2 by Thorne/Sarsa- some dials affect more than they should

Lissa_xyzLissa_xyz Posts: 6,116

From the ones that I've tested, BM_LowerLip1 puffs out the entire body and not just the lip, and BM_Nose1 makes the entire head wider rather than just the nose region.

Can anybody else with this kit confirm/deny please?

According to DIM, my installer date is 1/16/2013. I didn't buy this until June, so afaik mine should be the most recent version (DIM also doesn't list any updates to this).

On second thought, is this intended as a way to keep body proportions in tact?

    From the Product page:

Note: The "BM_" prefix means these morphs are created to be used on the Genesis Basic Male shape for best results, though they also work well on the Genesis default and other Genesis body shapes.

I will still double check results on my end though

I get the same results you do. I would suggest you open a bug report here - https://bugs.daz3d.com/ - under content so QA can get that fixed and updated.

I gathered BM and BF were Basic Male and Basic Female respectively. I'll put in a ticket as suggested. Thanks.

I decided to search first, apparently Richard added this in as of 11/2012. It's listed as minor and still an issue.

Do they get notified when new notes get posted, or is it a fruitless effort?

I've received an email when new comments were added to a bug report before now.

    Hi,

This sounds like a minor fix- I'm sorry no one at DAZ has informed me yet there was a problem like this. It's been a while on this one, so I will have to go back over the files to see if it is just something that was overlooked. I'll post here when the issue is resolved.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention- and thanks to the very helpful person who told me about this thread!

P.S. For the record, the Morph Resource Kits are Thorne and Handspan Studios * ;) *

Okay for the BM_LowerLip1 morph, the Basic Male shape got inadvertently added to the lip morph. For a temporary fix. you can change the lower limit of the Basic Male dial to -1 and then place it at that value to remove this from the morph (or the equivalent value, for example if BM_LowerLip1 is set to +0.6 then you would dial the Basic Male shape to -0.6).

As for the BM_Nose1 morph, I have to discuss this with Handspan Studios to see if it was meant to be a whole head morph or not.

In any case I will get the fix(es) to DAZ right away and see if I can sweet talk them into putting out an update very soon.

Sorry for any inconvenience this might cause.

Thanks for the response, Thorne. I didn't realize these issues until after I had messaged you at Rendo about the distribution, and I wasn't sure how the bug system here works and didn't want to be a pain in the ass. lol

Okay I have created fixes for the two morphs in question and they work now just as intended :)

I've sent these fixes on to DAZ as well. Again, sorry for the trouble!

The update to fix the two problems has been updated, so if you update with the new update everything should be updated! *wink*
