Using the camera as a real world 35mm camera.

As a photographer I was hoping I could use the camera as a normal 35mm camera.

I also thought that frame width of 36 was to make it behave like camera with 24*36mm sensor or film.

First of all DOF seems to be way off, not by a large margin but huge margin. F64 or so in DAZ is like F5.6 on 35mm camera ??

Another thing is focal lengt in landscape mode. With the camera in portrait (aspect 2:3) mode focal lengths are similar in daz and on 35mm camera (daz is a little wider, frame width of 33 is closer to my 35mm)

If I rotate the camera I get the same framing as I would turn my camera to landscape mode.

But then if I change the aspect ratio to 3:2 I get something that is very far from 35mm camera framing. Same height but wider frame.

As a 35mm photographer I must think like I am always in portrait mode and if I like wider frame I swing my camera around to make panorama. (and I got the DOF of 8x10inch large format camera!)

What is frame widht then (and why is it in mm) if this number maintains frame height and aspect ratio controls widht?

I don't know if you know this or not. But If you look under render settings weather your using either iray or 3delight , there is a bunch of camera ratio settings  including a   35mm camera 4.3 ratio setting to get your picture frame size,  thenusing the  preview window you can use your camare adjustments to refine the image.

I found rendering 3d does not always give the same prospective results as a lens camera, example would be taking a photo using the camera lens adjustments,  So using the render settings can help retool your renders to over come those issues of not having a proper lens ratio within the camera adjustments by using the render settings

Like photo/35mm slide 3:2 for example (under Iray general dimension preset)

But here is the proplem (like I was trying to point out in my post), this doesn't look like 35mm camera at all. In order to get the same framing as 50mm lens in real life I need 28mm lens in Daz.

If I change the aspect ratio to portrait mode (2:3) 50mm lens in daz is like 50mm lens in real life.
