2D version of Daz?

Hello, I'm brand new to 3D animation, and I have few if any drawing skills. I'd like to create a comic strip / graphic novel, and Daz looks great. But the 3D version is resource intense, and does much more than I would need. Is there a 2D version? If not, can someone recommend software with built-in adjustable characters and expressions?

Daz Studio is a 3d program, you manipulate the 3d figures, set up scenes and then render to provide 2d images.  As such there is not any likelyhood of a 2d version coming along.

In fact Poser, which is of a similar ilk but has been available a lot longer, was originally designed as an artists tool, helping 2d artists to visualise a 3d firgure when they couldn't afford to hire people to pose for them. IT just grew into what is availalbe now.

But look at toon rendering if you want more cartoon-liike images with your 3D figures.

You're probably looking for Anime Studio (now called Moho) by Smith Micro? https://my.smithmicro.com/anime-studio-2D-animation-software.html

I also have zero drawing skill, and do my own comic in a 3D rendered fashion. There's a thread over in the Art section where you can father ideas and maybe get more details on what can be done with studio, and with or without postwork: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/228061/3d-comic-book-tips-and-pictures#latest

Also, in DAZ STudio, you can switch from Iray to the less resource hungry 3Delight. If you are aiming for an comic style, it is a good choice, as there are great comic shaders available.

What I'd really like is something that looks like the old BitStrips (before they sold it...)

I'm not familiar with that software, so I can't compare to the one I suggested.

By the way, Moho has a free trial version, if you just want to test it out.
