Problem with matching imported bg to window size...

Hi all,
Okay, this may turn out to be a dumb question, but it must be asked. ;)

I'm starting to import bg images into Poser 9 in order to do some compositing. Every single one comes in only covering the top half of the window. I'm always pressing "yes" when the dialog box asks whether or not it should resize the window to match the image, but it never seems to make any difference. No matter what size that image is, it comes in the same way... there it is, covering only the top half of the default window size. Zooming out extends the image to cover the window, but then, of course, other figures won't show up. I do a lot of PS and AE postwork, but I at least need to be able to see where added elements are in relation to the background. There has to be a simple way around this! All help appreciated. :)
