@Novica That is only a small percentage of the bushes in the area. Most are too tall to reach the berries, usually the biggest, and most are too dense to get into the berries in the middle. If you aren't quick then the easy ones are usually all picked by someone else and the children of the area, our grandchildren love them either raw with ice cream or yoghurt or cooked in a crumble, pie or turnover. Soaking them in gin or vodka makes a nice blackberry flavoured drink I am told.

Beautiful render Novica.  I agree, the one forehead piece looks odd but its easily fixed in post.  Its really pretty hair though.  I don't think I have that particular hair, I will add it to the wishlist.

Fishtales, that reminded me so much of my childhood.  We had a TON of raspberry bushes lining th the garden (half acre garden so  LOT of raspberrys lol)  We spent hours picking them and my mom and me and my sister would make freezer jam and iced cream with them.

It's Rhubarb time here just now, just stewed a big pot ready for the freezer, next will be the Red Currants and then Gooseberries in the next few weeks, Brambles, again, and then Apples. We also have a big Rowan/Mountain Ash in the garden but we don't use the berries, the Starlings and Blackbirds usually beat us to them, but we have a friend who makes Rowan Berry Jam with the wild ones around her place. We also leave some of the Red Currants on the bush for the birds, as long as we can keep the grandchildren from eating them even although they know they are for the birds and that there are plenty in the freezer for them :)

Your grandchildren have clearly figured out that they are the best straight off the vine lol!  I really miss having that giant garden, even though  I hated it at the time lol.  It was my sister and I's job to help weed and pick all of that stuff.  Now, I am so grateful we had the opportunity to eat fresh organ ic food.  And I wish I had the time and room to do that myself.  Thankfully we have local growers we can buy from, but sadly that's only in the summer and fall here in Ohio.

The set is props from Ancient Temple Courtyard. If you need stairs, columns, and just a wall, remember that set. If your computer labors with big sets, the props and walls are separate and you can use only what you need. Behind Helena is the Front Entrance only, then I added a couple columns and the planter (which are all in this set.)  Inside the entrance is gold, I darkened it to a gray (and it went black, which is fine.)

I think FWSA Helena HD for Alexandra 8  would be a good starting model for Melania Trump. Sharpen her nose, square up the jawline a bit, and elongate (squint) her eyes and she'd look a lot like her. Wearing Short Wet Hair (Gen8M/F)   The gallery image is here.

And now I'm going to get on a soapbox (and poke at me, not the vendor.)  (Even if this has been mentioned elsewhere previously, and I might have just forgotten.)

Listen PAs, when you do something stellar, point it out. Really. It's okay. Put it in the product description PARAGRAPH, shout it to the world. Because I am guilty of:
    1. assuming what is shown in the promos is not necessarily included, because often, it's not.
    2. skimming through what's included (the list), particularly if it's a good vendor whose products I frequently buy. I already know their clothes, or hair, will have a lot of morphs.
    3. reading just the paragraph because if you've done something unusual, using common sense, you'd mention it in the paragraph, almost first thing. It's called babysitting those of us who are idiots.
    4. needing a second reminder even if it's on the main promo. Breeze right past that print all the time or forget what's on it when I click and get to the product page and start looking at thumbnails. Totally on me.

So, I probably am the only one on this planet who would NOT assume that a hair product INCLUDES THE WET SKIN LOOK. And not seeing it blaringly on the main promo being pointed out. Yep. I'm just that clueless.  @linday  went above and beyond to include a wet skin geometry shell, with MULTIPLE OPTIONS! You want the sheen? Just the drops? Bingo. Linday gives you the total package. Wet hair and wet skin. Kudos!!!!

So for everyone else who of course already knew all this, it's just a reminder.  I can't believe I either forgot about this product or didn't know to begin with. None of this is on Linday, it's my DUH.

Okay, moving on.  For the Beauty and the Beach (Gen8F)  using dForce,  it was just plain fun to watch the outfit move around the figure and the stairs, when I adjusted her pose and did it again, it was fun to see the magic again. One thing I agree on though- dForce clothing should also have morphs to tweak things, and those shoulder straps can't be adjusted and do not fix snugly against the skin. You can even see it in the promos. The easy fix is simply erase the shadows. (takes about 10 seconds, really. Not hard.)

For lighting, this is DA Real World Lighting. Has so many options! If you're not good with lighting or feel overwhelmed with too many options, don't worry, this is click-and-play-and-make-your-day easy.

Great render! How long can the short wet hair go with limits turned off? (I much prefer long hair in general...)

  • NovicaNovica Posts: 23,887

@wonderland  Limits turned off, as in render settings? With all my renders, I put the max samples up to 10,000, the time up to probably 4 hours, and the convergence rate to 99.5%. This render took less than 25 minutes if I recall (because the blackberry one took 2 hours.)

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,651

I think she means turning of the limits in regards to it being stretched longer.

I just checked, and Short Wet Hair doesn't have a lengthen morph. There is a morph to make the hair even shorter. I turned off the limits and tried making the hair longer. It gets longer all over, pretty much hiding the face.

Short Wet Hair with short morph set to -150, Base Style

There are several style options which pull the hair back and away from the face, but even at -200%, the back wasn't long.

From the same PA, Warrior Wet Hair for G3M can go quite a bit longer. You can fit it onto G8M without auto-fit by changing the Scene Identification to G8.

Can one of you test the Only Show Owned from Ati's app when Genesis 8 Female is checked as the Figure? I unchecked Hide What I Own, still wouldn't show anything. Then left it checked, still wouldn't show anything.  It's showing the number of items left and recognizing I own a lot, but not a single thing will show up for Only Show Owned.  Edit- doesnt show up when Genesis 8 Female isn't selected, either. Nothing works.

Oh wow, my purchased stuff isn't showing up with the black square and white arrow (indicating purchased) until I click on the product to go to the page, then when I come back, it's showing. That blackberry render I just did- the white flowers- they weren't showing as purchased in the gallery. Then when I went back to the gallery from the white flower page, some of the others had changed over to purchased but weren't doing that before I checked on the flowers.

Seems to be working for me. Try logging out and then logging back in to be sure you are fully logged in.

And now it's working after I went to the white flowers page. So just be aware some things may not be showing up as owned and the store is a bit flakey at the moment.

@charliejudge    Thanks, I had already checked that. Didn't do anything different and it started working. Appreciate the idea though.

This model is Juniper from Rendo.  I was testing her out as a potential Cinderella for a render.  I think she's lovely, but I'll probably want to dial in a younger/more youthful character if I decide to use her for that project.

I don't know if anyone has showcased dragonfly hair yet, but I think it is lovely.  It comes with an incredible number of possible adjustments (strands, movement, the top bun size, etc.).   I especially like it with the hair lustre shader that I've used because its given the hair a very soft, touchable quality.

I like her skin, but her strong philtrum looks odd to me. I'd have to make that less noticible... Although otherwise the character is cool- I think she'd make an awesome mermaid.

  • Worlds_EdgeWorlds_Edge Posts: 2,152

You're right, she would make a great mermaid.  I'll play with the philtrum, you're right about it being too strong.  First I'll test other angles to be sure it's not my lighting.  Thanks!

@worldsedge  I think with the philtrum, whenever that is stronger the mouth peaks often increase (I know because I just happened to spend the last two days examining characters .)  It's the pull for the peaks, so to speak. I think she's quite lovely and the hair is indeed so soft looking it's touchable. Nicely done!

Hello, It's very late and I can't sleep so I was googling random stuff, and I ran across some info about pigs/wild boars. Now I personally have never encounterd any type of farm animal, and apparently pigs are hella huge. Like, HELLA. Like scary crazy hella hugemongous. So I had a sort of idea to do a render of someone riding a wild boar. A quicky search of the daz store gives me this acurate looking bad boy: https://www.daz3d.com/wild-boar-by-am.

So, if you've stayed with me this long, kudos. I have two questions about this boar: 1 Is it scaled accurately to a human figure? And 2 Can it be used without LAMH?

    Thank you for your time.

@zombietaggerung  I can't help on that one, I don't own it. Hopefully someone can.

They have wild boars, aka escaped pigs that are now native to parts of Tennessee, Kentucky, and all over the southeast USA. The University of Arkansas sports teams are known known as the Razorbacks because of them. In Georgia about 10 years a go an 11 year old boy shot one that was about 1000 lbs and nearly 10' long.

So AM's boar will need to be scaled to suit your intent for the render.

AH, Girl 8 has arrived! As usual I'm waiting to see if an orange banner (or green one?) shows up later in the day. The Exclusive Messages in your account will show an additional 20% off if you own several Pro Bundles.

  • nonesuch00nonesuch00 Posts: 18,131

Yes, and the best batch of add-on characters I've seen for any character yet! I'm especially liking this VMYK PA. I may just eventually wind up buying all the Girl 8 characters but for now I won't even be buying the Girl 8.

A quick view showing the Catalyzer fur Boar, the normal Boar and Genesis 2 Atticus for Gianni 6 for size comparison.

Edit. Did it too quick and didn't save as .png so the background is black and not transparent. Off on school run so will re-do it later.

Wow, haven't seen deals like this, ever. If you buy The Girl Pro Bundle and 3 add-ons you get $30 off Genesis 8 items, $65 off Genesis 3 items, and $100 off Genesis 2 items. That's $195 off, and to get $30 off the current generation is good! (All mine was 4.7GB, downloading it now because tomorrow morning when the rest of the U.S. wakes up and shops, I bet DIM will be slower than a turtle with all this stuff to download. Right now my speed it 7MB to 9.1MB)  BTW, there's a new DIM update, you'll see it triggered next time you use DIM.

The discounts are amazing, especially since there are discounts on genesis 8 and 3!  I'm downloading now as well.  My DIM has been crawling, but at the moment, it is moving at a fast clip and I'm taking advantage of it.  Grabbed some of the victorian things from yesterday as well.

I had all the stuff in the cart for the pro Girl 6, the three items and the free stuff for Genesis 3.  and then I took it all back out again.  There just isn't enough in the pro bundle that I like enough to spend $59 on.  Even with all the free stuff. I'm just not into toons and modern clothing.  The fantasy outfit and the pirate outfit went into the wish list because those are cute but I don't NEED them right now.   If it would have been a fantasy theme, I'd have scopped it up lol.  I am looking forward to seeing what everyone does with her, I just can't make myself buy it just for the discounts, knowing that most of it won't get used.

  • MollytabbyMollytabby Posts: 1,163

I didn't realise until @Novica mentioned it, that the offer includes the free stuff from Genesis 2 AND Genesis 3 AND Genesis 8 - I almost checked out with just the Genesis 2 outfits because I thought that looked like the best deal for me. Almost did a happy dance when Novica posted above because I've ended up with a lot of outfits that were on my wishlist from all three generations. I'd have been really kicking myself if I'd missed out. I haven't been doing this for very long and there's a lot of back catalogue stuff I like.

Plus I like toon characters :-)

So, I got 32 products for $67. I went a little over budget hence the extra $7. No more spending for me for a while (well unless The Guy 8 comes out!).

@fishtales Thank you very much I appreciate the renders. It looks like I'll have to scale the boar up, signifigantly.

And I did not realize either that we got all three generation free either until I read your post lol.  That's what I get for reading with half an eye.  Repopulated cart and checked out.  The amount of clothing across all three generations was too good to pass up especially since G3's stuff fits G8 reasonabley well out of the box and moving things up from G2 is easy enough with sickle yields dress rig etc.
