Great kitbashing and promo, Novica. The lighting is perfect too.

LOL It reminds me of the hat Snape wears in The Prisoner of Azkaban, the 3rd Harry Potter movie.

Hey folks I am offline for awhile, our streetlight got struck by lightning and it struck all over the place apparently. Thousands were without power (including the barn) but we only went out a few seconds. Internet is out all over. We are all joking this is the lost, wayward Tropical Storm Alberto who, using GPS to avoid toll roads, just arrived a week late.

We got zero from him literally, and pounded by these storms. No warnings either, and wind gusts were easily 50mph or more. So will check back in later.

Yikes! Hope it is resolved soon!

I do like the idea of a lost storm wandering around trying to use dodgy GPS to find where he is supposed to be gigging.

Messing about with Victoria 4.2 and dialling in a few morphs produced this. Nothing spectacular :)

I'm baaaaaack. That storm was massive several days ago, the internet company came out today and got us back up and running. BTW, and this was not our case but just in case you don't know this- and the internet guy mentioned it and reminded me-   it is NOT ENOUGH to unplug your electronics. Get those metal prong plugs away from the outlet/power strip, as lightning can easily arc out of the wall or power plug, across to the very thing you unplugged. Makes sense- if lightning is racing through your electrical system and unbelievable speed, why would it hesitate to make a little leap and continue onto a very attractive metal surface?  The man down at the Goodyear Tire store told me several years ago that  happened to him, and it fried his expensive 65" television which he thought was safe due to being unplugged.

The internet guy told me our power company sells bona fide power surge (industrial type) and to not bother with the commercial ones found at most stores. If you're not home during the day, live in a frequent summer thunderstorm area, just unplug your stuff (and move the cord away from where you plug in) before you leave for work!

Once was in a house struck by lightning and once was in a car when lighting struck less than a football field away. Blinding & deafening strikes are!

    After The Game

After the game, the real one begins.  That's what happens when brothers are on different teams. You can tell which girlfriend is with Lorenzo (coming soon) and who is with Stryker. Both by @darwinsmishap

Lorenzo for Genesis 8 Male(s)  COMING SOON   Ryan Hair (Gen 3 and 8)    Gymnasium       Basketball Court Outfit (Gen8M)

Next post will have the gals and their products.

TIP:  For basketball poses, use Warrior King Poses (Edward 8/G8M)     Also good for altercations. Just use two totally different poses and put the guys across from each other. This is pose 18 and pose 21. (Poses tweaked.)  Lighting (which took FOREVER to figure out and get what I wanted) was @dumor  Iray HDRI Apocalyptic Plant Indoors Set 2 with a couple walls hidden.

Glad you are up and running again Novica!

So, I'm having an admittedly minor issue but its driving me nuts.  On my pc I can hover my mouse over the icons inside Studio and it will pull up a bigger tab picture so I can read or see the image better. However,  My laptop does not do this and I cannot find a setting to change it either in the mouse setting or inside of daz studio.  Those damn icons are tiny!

@icedragonart   Thanks, good to be back. I'd like to know how to get it to do the enlargements too, I've never figured it out, even on my desktop. I'm sure someone will speak up and assist me, and hopefully solve your problem too.

Is it Edit>Preferences>Interface>Show Tool Tips? (Edit- um, no. It just told me who the vendor is, etc. Didn't enlarge the image at all.)

The gal rooting for Lorenzo and very happy with his efforts is Delaney (Gen8F)  wearing Blazer and Skinny Jeans Outfit (Gen8F) . BTW Autumnal Outfit Boots goes good with those jeans, but you can't see them.

BD Harlyn (Gen8F)  is a bit anxious at Stryker's attempt to block Lorenzo's shot. Her hair is Swizzle Bob (Gen8F)  and her outfit is dForce City Limits Outfit (Gen8F)  for the clothing.

Just ignore the set as I hid the floor of the gym so this would render faster. I wanted you to see the details of the clothing.

Okay, I don't know how to get the mouse hovering to show the images on Sonja's laptop. However, when you hover over the icon, the "window" that shows up includes the icon unless there is a "tip" image. For example, producticon.png and producticon.tip.png. The icon and the tip image need to be in the same folder. Typically, the icon is 91 x 91 pixels and the tip is 256 x 256 pixels. However, the tip image can be larger. I think I read it can be as large as 640 x 640, but with this old gray matter, that could be wrong. Anyway. if you create your own icons by rendering the item, you can make that tip image large.

Draagonstorm published Thumbnail Mastery that will create icons for you, but I have no idea if it creates the tip images, or if so, if it allows you to specify the tip image size. Maybe someone who has and uses it can come in and clarify.

Probably you have your laptop setup to use fewer resources under Edit - Preferences - Interface but that is just a guess.

  • NovicaNovica Posts: 23,887

@ladair   I knew about the tip.png and even created a few a couple months, but when I hovered the mouse it didn't enlarge. I thought there was a setting to allow for it, but you're saying the tip.png should automatically make it do that?

It always has in my setup. If the tip image is present, it gets used, otherwise the base icon is used. I tested it some months back, (maybe more than year ago,) and if the tip image was larger, the popup was larger to accommodate it. That comes in real handy if you need put a lot of text in the tip image…

While we're on the Edit>Preferences>Interface, two things I have "off" that I don't know what they do (everything is default unless I see it explained somewhere) and those are:
    Per Pixel Shading
    Pixel Buffer

What are these and are yours off or on?

speaking of things not working.....Smart Content/Connect is driving me nuts. Did a small order over an hour ago, and the products are STILL not showing in "available" for download in my Smart Content. :sigh: Refresh, refresh, refresh...and nothing.

Did you go to the Connect menu in Daz Studio and Update Metadata? That should make the new purchases show up in the Install pane right away.

  • jakibluejakiblue Posts: 7,281

    Yep. Connect -> Update Metadata

Nothing kinda happens...don't get a swirly icon or anything to say it's working, so no idea if it is.

    Well sheesh. NOW they're there.

I had done that update metadata twice and nothing. And now while I'm sitting here...they turn up. Took more than an hour tho.

Its definitely an issue with either the mouse settings or studio settings.  My mouse will not pull up the larger icon when hovering on anything in studio on the laptop and it works on everything in studio on the PC.  Its too late to mess with it anymore tonight. I will have to google it tomorrow and see if I can find anything that will help.

Could it be a power-saving feature of the laptop? I've noticed on my own laptop, for example, the screen is less bright if the computer isn't plugged into the wall. Many things work differently on my laptop than either of my desktop PCs. But I also don't spend much time using the laptop anymore…
