Changing height sliders and other things for a Newbie

Got Daz 3D the other day, along with Hexigon and I've been playing around with it some. I may be rushing things but I have a few questions.
1. Is there a height slider, or shader, available? The closest thing I found so far is one that adjusts the models age. I want to change a model's height from 5'-11" to 5' even, and so on. If there is one, where can I find it.
2. I downloaded several free packages and looking at a few for purchase. I noticed in the description it would say it's compatible with Daz 3D. Is it also compatible with Daz 3D 4.10? It might be a stupid question but I've learn years ago never to assume it. (For instance, back when Win 95 came out their tagline was "Plug and Play", but in reality it was "Plug and Pray.")
3. Can you make aliens with what comes with Daz 3D 4.10 or do you use Hexagon?
4. Also, which program do you use to create your own custom scenes and clothing?
Thanks in advance for any information you share.
BTW, my only past experience with 3D is Sims 2, Paint 3D and 3D Builder.

1. Scale, and adjust the leg length/head size as needed - you may need the Body Morphs to get the leg length slider, though you may well be able to approximate by scaling the leg bones.
2. Generally Daz 3D means daz Studio when it comes to compatibility, most content will work in the current version.
3. Probably needs Hexagon, for custom morph creation, or one or more morph sets.
4. People use a wide range of tools - including Hexagon.
